spartan quilter 08-14-2011 02:03 PM

Yes, a few tears fell here, but love to see those reunions. Thanks for sharing.

New Quilter 08-14-2011 02:43 PM

I only made it 3 minutes into the 8 minute video before I was a blubbering mess. LOL.

RE: this video.... that little boy was so cute. I love to see kids when their parents come home from a deployment. It always makes me smile.

bodie358 08-14-2011 06:34 PM

Saw it earlier today. The little boy just tugged at my heartstrings. The tears were flowing - even my 42-year-old he-man was wiping his eyes.

earthwalker 08-14-2011 06:57 PM

Our news service showed the video of the husband and wife sporting clip...tears then...tears today...my mother phoned as I was watching and I had to tell her I had a spot of hayfever...Thanks Charlee...very beautiful stories.

beautiful know just how they feel. DH called one night and said he was still in Hawaii and i knew it would just be 2 weeks more. however what i didn't know mr sneaky was at the airport in hawaii so in the morning there was a really loud banging at the door by the time i got there there was banging at the back door. i was thinking what was wrong and it might of been my mom who lived a few blocks away. finally got to the front door again and opened it to find DH there. what a great surprise that was. homecomings were always the best.

Lynneander 08-15-2011 05:57 AM

Love that program! My SIL is a career Marine with a number of deployments over the years. Each reunion, whether large or small, is such an emotional time. Grateful for his service, but more grateful for the time he is able to spend at home with family.

mountain deb 08-15-2011 05:58 AM

I love those happy reunions. It reminds me of a prank I pulled on my family. I went off to boot camp and then hospital corp school. I was there so long after I graduated waiting on my assignment papers to come in for my nest school. When I finally got them, I was packed up and out of Great Lakes, Il. heading home via plane to Pittsburg, Pa. I just made it to the greyhound bus terminal with 15 minutes to spare, before catching the greyhound to Cumberland, MD and still not calling home, I got a taxi the last 20 miles. I dropped my seabag in the front yard and knocked on the front door. Needless to say the commotion from within was enormous when I ID'd myself. I was home for one week before heading to San Francisco.

cheryl rearick 08-15-2011 07:19 AM

wow. whoa, yes, tissue, that little boy when he started saying daddy daddy, just reduced me to putty.. So priceless, Thank you for sharing. :)

KLO 08-15-2011 07:54 AM

You are right! I should have gotten the tissue before watching the video. I think scenes like this are played out almost everyday as troops come home.

imaquilternga 08-15-2011 07:59 AM

Beautiful homecoming! Praying they'll all be coming home safe, sound and soon!

Carron 08-15-2011 08:25 AM

At least these are happy tears.

Angellight 08-15-2011 09:32 AM

THanks,
I used to watch the show "Surprise Homecoming" on TV. However, being the mom of 2 sons who have deployed multiple times, it is just a little too emotional for me to watch every time. I can't do it without crying, so I need to not watch them...

Have a great day!
Susan

deb8746 08-15-2011 09:57 AM

you are terrible I just cried and I need to be working

joyce888 08-15-2011 12:08 PM

Yep as soon as it started so did the tears!

darlin1942 08-15-2011 01:19 PM

Usually I don't cry, I just feel happy. But boy this one got to me, and what a way for Dad to make an entrance.

Thea 08-15-2011 02:37 PM

That was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Larue Bonnoni 08-15-2011 03:02 PM

g-maquilts 08-15-2011 03:37 PM

Ragann63 08-15-2011 05:09 PM
