It is so windy here ..the gazebo we had on the deck for our only shade just crashed. We had hoped we would actually get more use out of it. Oh well we live and learn.

craftybear 10-15-2011 10:54 AM

very windy here in central Indiana for the last 2 days,

Sophie our shih tzu dog doesn't like to go outside when it is windy or raining so she is snuggled in her blanket on the couch

Sassylass 10-15-2011 10:55 AM

That is not nice, can you salvage it? Windy here to in Ontario...along with drizzle..

sandyo 10-15-2011 10:56 AM

same here don't even want to out, sounded like a blizzard this morn.

athomenow 10-15-2011 11:01 AM

Supposed to go to a Halloween party tonight and it's in a tent. The wind is so bad or heavy patio furniture is all turned over. I doubt that I'm going to be setting in a tent with the wind howling!

Nope..it twisted all the metal and ripped up the screen to bad. It makes me so mad...we can't use the deck without it, it's just way to hot. We planted trees but have awhile to go before they help much. We have all winter to figure out the next plan of action.

QUILTNMO 10-15-2011 11:13 AM

windy here today too

ssgramma 10-15-2011 11:25 AM

It's quite breezy down here too today.

Sorry 'bout your gazebo :-(

QuiltnNan 10-15-2011 11:34 AM

wow, i saw on the news that it was going to be windy there, but i wouldn't have thought that would happen. our weatherman gave travel warnings for those heading east from here

amyjo 10-15-2011 11:50 AM

the wind was howling here to for a few days. It almost takes the car off the road it is so strong and then when you come out from a shelterbelt out into the open omg. take you right away. sorry your gazebo was busted up.

gale 10-15-2011 12:01 PM

Windy here too. I opened up the chicken coop to add feed and wood shavings came flying out at me. yuck.

quiltlonger 10-15-2011 01:30 PM

Boys not happy here: horizontal rain, Windy and First day of bow season!! But still went out this morning--no luck-- Have you checked into those roll out canopys and then roll back up or now have those heavy duty sail shades/tarps. Those look pretty interesting.

irishrose 10-15-2011 04:11 PM

Temps in the high 40s and 30 mph winds here. Made for an interesting walk with the dogs. My furniture is rearranged, but it's still here. That's a plus.

Teach 10-15-2011 04:17 PM

I'm sorry your gazebo crashed. We've had a lot of wind here, too.

Pam Perry 10-15-2011 05:37 PM

Hubby and I went to Grandfather Mountain today the wind was blowing 40 to 60 MPH. I told him that i felt like we was on the amazion race .LOL

bgullett 10-15-2011 05:53 PM

I work from home on Saturdays and all the wind we had here in Michigan kept making my internet go in and out. what did I accomplish, ummm, not too much! It has slowed down now though.

carrieg 10-15-2011 06:12 PM

Very blustery in SW Michigan also! Too bad about your gazebo. At least no one was in it when it wrecked.

hensandhollyhocks 10-15-2011 06:16 PM

Very few in my area even have gazebos due to wind.

trisha 10-15-2011 06:23 PM

It is so windy here, that all our leaves blew into the neighbors yards!!! LOL

jaciqltznok 10-15-2011 06:27 PM

that happened to me when I lived in MI too...here in OK it is worse...windy all the time..useless to buy a canopy, gazebo, umbrella, etc...need to actually BUILD or get one of those retractable sun shade things they show on tv..

scrappy2 10-16-2011 03:58 AM

Sorry your gazebo crashed.

Windy here in NW Ohio. Live in the country & surounded by flat farm land. Everything ends up in
my front yard.

Yooper32 10-16-2011 04:20 AM

Gusty gales here in WV too. Daughter took me with her and the children yesterday up to Clarksburg in a 12 passenger van they just got and the wind just about blew us off the highway about three times on the way up there. She was having a heck of a time controlling that big beast. When we got back last evening, I found all of my plants on the deck were scattered all over the floor and mostly broken up. The big begonia is gonia now.

You just might be able to find a replacement over the next few months as they would be out of season. (Cup half full)!

SO windy all over the Great Lakes area. A dear friend is a captain of a 1,000 footer out on the lakes, and he has been laid up since Friday night because of 20+ foot waves on Lake Superior. His ship is empty and he needs to get across Superior to load it in Deluth. I feel for him, but I LOVE the wind. It is my first fall in MI in 28 years, and I am loving every single second of it.

Grinster 10-16-2011 01:13 PM

I was planning a day to stay home and quilt. On the 7am local news they said. "Waves expected to be 10-15 feet at Lake Mich. I woke up my DH and said, "get up! We are going to the lake!" It was awesome. The lake is always good medicine for me and yesterday it was mega awesome!

grannypat7925 10-16-2011 02:51 PM

Windy here also. Lots of the trees are stripped of their leaves so there won't be much color left to see. All on the ground!

Taughtby Grandma 10-16-2011 03:15 PM

Do you have a fireplace? You could still get one more use out of it.

Cagey 10-16-2011 04:32 PM

Windy here too in So. Wisconsin. That's OK. Can't get any yard work done so I have a good excuse to quilt!

Jingle 10-16-2011 05:27 PM

We spent the weekend at Ft. Riley, Kansas and it was very windy there also. Made driving a bit hard at times to stay in my lane. Not so windy here.

3incollege 10-16-2011 05:29 PM

raining and windy here all day. I put up the Sun Setter awning , before it blows.

dtippens 10-16-2011 06:09 PM

Windy the last 2 days in Oho also

janquilts'ncrochets 10-16-2011 07:41 PM

My wide trellis behind a flower bed here in Michigan blew down too. Have to get my son to come fix it, I hope.

frog54 10-17-2011 02:55 AM

We live in the mouth of a canyon. All the trees grow sideways

Helovesme 10-18-2011 11:21 AM
