My next-door neighbor toured with him several times as his sound equipment manager. I hope people respect his family's privacy as they grieve.

Love his music. I notice the family's not divulging the type of cancer he had. However did he just release a new album on Friday with being so sick?

Amazing to see the outpouring of sadness on social media. Well respected for his artistry and contribution to the music world. I am impressed with how the family is handling this. His last release is his goodbye to the world....Bowie style! An era...in my life and my age group...has past. RIP Mr. Bowie. Ah.....mortality.

Loved his duet/medley with Bing Crosby-Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy, one of my favorite Christmas songs.
He was from my era, not a huge fan of his music(think Carpenters, BeeGees, Doobie Bros., Eagles) I did read about his love for and his wife- what a beautiful couple! He is the same age as my DH(reality check). |
Can't believe he's gone. Love his music. Another great musical icon...

I've always loved him. I'm a child of the 70s :-) I read an interview online today with one of his record producers. He completed this album and released it as a farewell to his fans and the timing was as he wished. Listen to the songs and read the words, he was truly an amazing talent!

There was chatter that he could have sold a whole lot more records if he'd told everyone he was sick. But what a class act that he didnt exploit his cancer.

had to come home and put on my Ziggy Stardust album. what memories! David Bowie was an amazing talent and will be missed.

I have always LOVED the video he did with Mick Jagger to the song "Dancing in the Street". Watched it just the other day on Youtube.
Did you know that his name was actually David Jones? |
The album he released had his message about death from what I've read. He was such a talent.
