DDs Garlic Press went AWOL
My daughter cooks with garlic in EVERYTHING. For the last 2 weeks her garlic press has been missing. This morning she found it. It was in Walter's room - he's 3 1/2. She picked it up and said, "So THAT's where MY garlic press went!!!" Walter looked at her and replied, "Momma, THAT is MY June bug crusher."
Any body else find creative ways to use kitchen utensils??? |
Oh yuck! cute!!

Love multi-use gadgets....:)
Love kids who are inventive!!
YUCK is right. I think Walter is very ingenious for his age.
Oh, I think Walter needs to be talked to about " crushing" bugs......not good.......
icky, but what a way to use one!!! very funny
Ewwwww! Poor June bugs! I bet she will buy a new one.

That is priceless! I was wondering the same thing, what is he doing with the crushed bugs?
When my DD was that age she used to take some of the lunch she didn't finish into her room and put it in her toy chest, without my knowing it. When I found it I asked what it was doing in there and her response was, "For later." 28 years later she still loves left overs but she doesn't hide them in her bedroom. (She is one of those people that only eats when she is hungry so doesn't over-eat.) |
I asked DD what Walter was doing with the crushed bugs. She is worried but doesn't know. Hopefully he fed the chickens or embellished a mud pie but that is unlikely since the press was in his room.

Think I would be heading to the store to purchase another one.

That Walter is quite the innovator! What a guy! I could donate silverfish! LOL :D

Kids can be very morbid when it comes to bugs. We used to do some crazy stuff to lightning bugs when I was a child. We lit ants on fire with a magnifying glass, tied strings to June Bugs, and melted slugs with salt. Those were the good old days... LOL
My cousins used to swat June bugs out of the air with tennis rackets and stomp on them. They were protecting their mom's garden...at least that's what I was told. From indoors you couldn't see the bugs, at first I had no clue what they were doing out there! Looked like they'd lost their minds, LOL.

Out of the mouths of babes!!!
My youngest used to use mine for Silly Putty. Needless to say I got a new one as soon as I found out.

I am wondering how he got the garlic press.

Well that is a good way to take care of those bugs and I think I would just buy a new garlic press so he can keep his June bug masher.
Every kid needs a June bug squisher - DD did find out he hasn't used it yet - it is just for insurance - his sisters had a bug in their room so he is prepared... What I want to know is how he is going to get the bug to stay in the squisher long enough to squish it.
