Designer 1 recall

Does anyone know if my a Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 is covered under the 2006 recall for the power supply if I am not the original owner? Took machine to Viking repair shop and was told it would be a $400 fix. After doing a little investigating, I learned of this big recall by the Consumer Service Protection Agency in 2006 for a power supply problem. Apparently this was a big problem and according to the serial number on my machine, it was included in this recall. Will I be covered?

Thanks!

Since you took it to your Viking repair man didn't that dealer know? Perhaps contact corporate.

One would think the recall has to do with the machine not the owner. I would contact your local dealer and suggest it should be done in accordance with the recall. And if the dealer declines, contact the corporate office.

Recalls are on the product not the owner. Especially on a safety recall

You need to contact the corporate office first. Not sure if the recall has a time limit. Good Luck.

I agree with the other responses, it should be covered, no matter who has ownership of it. People sell, trade, inherit machines all the time. Good Luck!

There is a Designer 1 Yahoo group that might be able to help you. I would contact the Viking dealer and ask them and if they didn't know perhaps they would find the answer for you.
