Diaper Bag

Am making a diaper bag from a simplicity pattern. It says to prevent shrink. Would you was it first?

Always wash.

As it will get dirty and require washing I would wash all fabric you can wash first.

Can you still get spray-on Scotchgard? Back in the day that I made several diaper bags, I sprayed the outside of those before gifting them. Being in constant use, diaper bags are prone to getting dirty and that seemed to give a bit of protection.

I am making some umbrellas and searched for Scotchguard. I found it at Target and at JoAnn's. The one from JoAnn's also came with a special spray cleaner which is great. I bet WalMart would also have it.

You could get some of the iron on vinyl too. You do have to orreash the fabric prior to ironing it on.
