We usually get at least 50 trick-or-treaters. Last night the weather was terrible and we got about 20. So late last night, DH and I started eating the leftover treats. I have got to get them out of the house today or we'll both be like blimps. I am about to dump it all into a box and carry it to our resource center.

Anyone else pig out?

no more than my 1-3 nightly jellybeans

AlwaysQuilting 11-01-2011 03:30 AM

No because we only buy treats that don't tempt us like Butterfingers, Skittles, bubble gum...ick.
But when my grandkids bring home their loot I admit I seem to eat a lot of their licorice

That brownie ideas sounds good, may have to try that. Of course, we only buy the bite size candy bars we like, and yes, we put them in the candy box and yes, we eat them and so does the family when they come around. Everyone checks the candy box when they are here.

athomenow 11-01-2011 06:57 AM

I bought stuff we didn't really like and we ate it anyway. Had three little kids come to the door last night so I have a lot of icky stuff. I do love the bubble gum.

Glassquilt 11-01-2011 07:00 AM

We deliberately buy Hersey Miniatures just so we'll have small leftovers we can eat.

sewmuch 11-01-2011 05:52 PM

We have a lot left over and have both been nibbling away at it, have to give some away...

Lisanne 11-01-2011 08:39 PM

It would be wasteful not to use them up. <g>

You can always take them to work or offer them to neighbors if you don't want to eat them yourselves. Or keep them in a candy dish on your coffee table for guests.

There's no rule that says they must be eaten right away. Save them for Thanksgiving or keep them around for when you want a bite of something sweet.

I could have sworn that I was told to eat the leftovers ASAP! That brownie recipe sounds yummy!

running1 11-02-2011 05:53 PM

Wait a minute... I thought the rule was "hand out a candy... EAT a candy..." :-)

Sheila_H 11-02-2011 08:24 PM

We buy the chocolate or candies that we like so if were stuck with leftovers we've got something to snack on. I find that when I get that sweet cravy in the afternoon or evening, one small piece of chocolate is enough to stop the craving and I'm good for the rest of the day.

I sent mine home with my teenage house helper-there are a bunch of folks at her house to help eat the stuff!

Rann 11-03-2011 08:22 PM

Would that be dog or cat treats?

jdiane318 11-04-2011 02:10 AM

There are two little neighbor girls who live behind me and they went to the Mall to trick or treat. I had hoped they would come by. So I bagged up what was left, Walmart bagfull, and gave it to them across the fence. They were so excited and their mom even came out and thanked me. Took care of the temptation.

zipit 11-04-2011 03:42 AM

I actually forgot it was Halloween so there were no treats in the house. There was only one little girl that I saw in the neighborhood do I'm glad I didn't have candy around to tempt me.

Mandie 11-04-2011 04:45 AM

All ours was gone by 7pm Halloween night never had so many trick or treaters we had to turn ppl away
