I hope that you recover your wallet soon. Thankyou for the idea it is really hard to replace I am sure.

dotcomdtcm 05-20-2010 05:55 PM

I feel so dumb! I cancelled my cards & will miss the cash but really need to drive tomorrow!

Maride 05-20-2010 06:02 PM

You can go to the DMV and maybe get a receipt that you requested a new one. Good luck.

Maride 05-20-2010 06:04 PM

Oopps...forgot that for you it is probably a whole day affair to do that. Good luck even more now.

I really feel your pain. My purse was stolen a couple of years ago and what a hassle. Hopefully you got a stop on all your credit cards and such. One thing I remember was when I went to get a new driver's license, I had to go back twice because the first time I didn't take any picture i.d. with me. So I had to go back home and get my passport (which was a 45 minute drive each way). The guy at the DMV suggested that if someone doesn't have a passport that they keep an old expired driver's license because when trying to get a replacement license that might be the only picture i.d. someone would have if they have lost their wallet (or in my case their entire purse).

Aw, hugs! Dealing with that stuff is such a chore, too!

raptureready 05-20-2010 08:00 PM

Most DMV's can bring up your license on the computer but you'll need some form of ID to get it. Take a phone bill or utility bill, your birth certificate, check book or something. Two are better.

So sorry , it is such a pain in the tush .

I always loved that from the DMV, before we can replace it we need a pic id ??? But the criminals manage to get them

dotcomdtcm 05-21-2010 03:33 AM

Good advice. I have my passport! Have a great day!

Quilt4u 05-21-2010 03:37 AM

Oh no I have enough problems with identity theft. I been getting hit for 3 years now. :(

JudyG 05-21-2010 06:33 AM

One other thing you need to do is make a report to one of the credit reporting bureaus. Once you make it to one, they can notify the others to monitor things for you.

littlehud 05-21-2010 02:57 PM

How frustrating. I'm making copies now.

craftybear 05-27-2010 01:33 PM

craftybear 05-28-2010 05:49 PM

Another thing, is,,, if it was stolen,, notify the bank of the time n date you realised it was gone. And then make sure you have ur credit cards checked,, to be sure no charges were made. Also, get a hold of your credit report,, they are free. And do not affect your score to look at them ( lke when you have a credit check done for stores and what else,, they deduct certain amount of points for businesses to look into your credit,).
I hope you find it,, and I know your pain,,, I was in Iraq, and realized I could not find my social security card. I freaked out,, only to discover I had it in my folder with other papers,,,
Best of luck,, keep your chin up,,, ;-)
