Do we have any weavers here?
I was wondering if anyone here enjoys weaving? About six months ago I bought a Cricket loom and have done a few scarves. I haven't found it as rewarding as my other crafts such as quilting, knitting or counted cross stitch. But I am glad I gave it a try because now I know some of what it is about.:o
Do you weave? |
I have often thought I would like to learn was it hard to do?

Not sure if it's the same looom that I saw online this morning but the class I saw on it has me considering taking it to see if I like it. Just not sure how much it all cost and I don't want to invest a lot and then not like it. The class itself is reallly a good deal but it's all the extras that is expensive. Is it a big expense to get started and learn the basics. I know that like my embroidery if I like it; the cost will go up. alot, that's a given. It's just the expense to find out if I like it.

I weave on an inkle loom. It is for making narrow things like straps and ribbons.
I made a loom out of PVC pipe for weaving wider things, too. I like to work with looms that use string heddles because they are easy to warp and easy to manipulate the pattern while weaving. |
Here is what a Cricket Loom looks like. Its the same that I have. I didn't find weaving hard to do at all I found it...boring. It takes a lot more time to set everything up and get the yarns ready etc.
