Is it like being incognito around here to do so?

It just seems like it would be fun to change it up sometimes. What do you do?

Jim's Gem 10-07-2009 09:42 AM

A lot of people have changed theirs. Some do it all the time. I havn't because I forgot how to change the pixals on the picture to get it the rite size to post it. Maybe next spring I'll think about changing it!

BellaBoo 10-07-2009 11:00 AM

I changed mine to a Halloween theme. Next month I'll change to a Thanksgiving and so on. It's fun to find new ones.

AtHomeSewing 10-07-2009 11:01 AM

Love it! What a cute idea!

joeyoz 10-07-2009 11:43 AM

I change mine a lot. Just for fun.

sewhappy57 10-07-2009 11:49 AM

I would change mine if only I knew how!

amma 10-07-2009 11:52 AM

kd124 10-07-2009 11:57 AM

Just go up to "My Profile" at top of page, scroll down to "Avatar Control Panel" and "Remove" the current one, then select put in a new one! Easy and fun! I think the size is about 2 inches square. If you need help resizing let us know :)

Barbm 10-07-2009 12:24 PM

I changed mine from my old car- a 1957 Nash Metropolitan to my new car- 1967 Firebird 400 convertible. Guess I need another car..... :)

Moonpi 10-07-2009 12:31 PM

Last time I changed my self-portrait, people worried.

There is a tutorial here, on how to use an online resizing tool:

No, I've been happy with mine, it was so traumatic, trying to resize it, I vowed 'never again' LOL, but then I didn't see the above web address. I can see why people like to change them, but I lose them when I am looking for them - that is just a personal opinion, but it takes me time to get used to the new one. That is getting old for you!

Lisanne 10-07-2009 01:43 PM

I'll change mine once I have a quilt or quilted project finished. Right now, my avatar is a piece of my beginner class project. Before that, it was a drawing of a sampler quilt block I was having problems with. I don't know that I plan to change it at regular intervals. It'll be more as the mood hits me or I have something better or more "me" to use.

AtHomeSewing, yours is beautiful! I'd miss that if you changed it.

sewnsewer2 10-07-2009 03:17 PM

Yep, just changed mine the other day to a fall runner I made.

fluffbug95 10-07-2009 06:05 PM

Yep! I change mine when I get bored with my old one. I think to Spunk it up a little. :)

littlehud 10-07-2009 06:27 PM

I haven't changed mine for a long time. Maybe I will someday but for now I like the one I have.

redkimba 10-07-2009 08:03 PM

I thought about changing mine, but I like the "narcoleptic" bat on the sidewalk so I'm letting it stay for now.

sandpat 10-08-2009 06:03 AM

I change mine sometimes...but when people change theirs, I don't recognize them for awhile. I tend to look at the avatars for friends and when I see a new one that I've never seen...I think it is new person on the board

Yes, that is my biggest concern, not that anyone seems to know me anyway!

I just changed to a pic of my sewing room. I used to have an avatar of a block I made at a Carol Doak class. Carol was a hoot, but I've got very tired of looking at the color combination in the block, so I thought I'd try looking at something that does makes me happy. :D

And that is a BEAUTIFUL runner, and a nice idea...mine wouldn't change very often though, if I had to actually finish something! :(

Love it...are they your quilt advisors? :)

Are you serious, is that a bat?

It is that way for me too.
It would be really strange if we HAD to put photos of ourselves.

Grammie2twins+1 10-08-2009 07:34 AM

I do when I have new pics of my twin grandsons. They are growing so fast I can hardly keep up!

bstanbro 10-08-2009 08:56 AM

I changed mine. I had a picture of myself at first, but I didn't like seeing myself everytime I posted. So I changed it to a quilt I had made, and I liked that better.

redkimba 10-08-2009 10:15 AM

Yes, ma'am - that is a bat. I think it is/was a Mexican free-tailed bat. It was just asleep on the sidewalk.

Boston1954 10-09-2009 09:56 AM

I think about it from time to time, but I like my Lieber and his quilt.

anyone can change theirs if they want to, but I will never change mine, it looks just like me...tiny, cute and cheesie!
btw, i get used to some of them, and feel abandonment issues, when they are gone

cutebuns 10-09-2009 08:35 PM

I change mine all the time, when I do it with something other than the pink monkey, some of my friends throw fits and try to revolt. I have a large selection of pictures with the pink monkey in it.

Barbm 10-10-2009 09:15 AM

told hubby about my cars being 57, then 67- I said next I need a 77. But we decided my 77 Chevette I had back in the day is not a "collectible" car.

I guess I could change to hubby's 65 Vette. :)
