Hey all,
I really wanna purchase a multi purpose fondue set, but I don't know anything about fondue. I wan't to be able to use it for many diffrent foods.

I think it would be really romantic with my hubby, or at least I hope so.

Any ideas? or thoughts?

Thanks all!

We use a fondue pot a lot. You can do chocolate fondues, cheese fondues, oil fondues and have a lovely evening either romantic or communal with friends. Actually you can use it for many different foods.

I love a fondue. I also have a Raclette and this allows good company conversation coupled with simple fare.

I say go for it (smile).

We fondue and raclette as well. I find the raclette safer if you have more people, or younger children, but the fondue is great too!
Just buy the set, they come with recipes and ideas I think, and there are many places online for ideas as well

What would you u do with an oil fondue?

I would love to be able to do all of them with the same pot if possible.

I will be trying both cheese and chocolate fondue for the first time this weekend at a friends house! I'm really looking forward to it.

I think oil fondue is for things like frying? correct me if I'm wrong...

So interesting for this to come up. Just a couple weeks ago, I attended my very first fondue party. It was wonderful!! We had oil for marinated meat strips and I did mushrooms in it that were very tasty. We had a broth fondue for veggies and a cheese fondue for bread and veggies. Everything was delicious and I couldn't stop eating!!!
Later we had chocolate fondue with fruit and cake squares. OMG I was sooooo stuffed but was I ever happy. There were 4 couples which was just the right size group for reaching the pots and good conversation. The pots were in the center of the table and we all could reach each of them. We used the bamboo skewers for poking and cooking or dipping each item. Get one, you will love it.
I want to get one for just DH and I, too, because the food tasted so good that way.

My kids love cheese fondue. I do it in a crock pot and it isn't romantic. Tasty, yes. Romantic, no. Messy, yes.

Well I bought a fondue pot, I am hoping to try it soon. I got it for $30. I even ordered a Fondue cookbok for $15. :)

Congrats! You will love it.

Hubby and I fondue every couple of months. Frozen cheesecake slices are heavenly with chocolate fondue.
