you have made? What do you put in it
Yes I do. The instructor from my first quilting class suggested it. I keep scraps of each fabric, a collage picture of the finished quilt, and details of when I made it, who I made it for, the name of the quilt pattern, etc. These go into clear page protectors in a binder.
I bought those Vintage Wood photo albums with the black paper pages...and I put a photo and annotate, date made, name of quilt and who I gave it too or what Organization I donated it too.
I take a picture of each quilt, put the date and where the quilt went
I faithfully did so until about 50 quilts ago. Ran out of room, interest, camera that wasn't digital, space to 'show' them, and albums that were packed away from moving. Sigh.

I use Microsoft Office One Note to keep a digital journal for my quilts.
No. Never heard of it until recently, and although I could go back and list them, I don't really see the point. And as Jan said, I don't have any interest. Maybe if the quilt were going away somewhere and I wanted to remember it, but not as a general rule.
Yes, I do keep a log. I put the name of the quilt, the date I finished it, and a note about the quilt...either who I gave it to and the occasion or I note what lesson I learned making it.
I keep pictures in a photo album. I wish I would have more accurate notes with dates, sizes, frustrations, new things, and other information about the making of the quilt.
Maybe someday.... |
I also use it as a portfolio to show if someone wants something special...I also sell
I have good intentions!
I've taken pictures of most and even have a scrapbook to put them into. My plans are to include the fabric samples, pictures, size and some of the pertinent details. I get busy quilting ... and I keep meaning to, but???? Someday soon, I MUST!! :) |
No, but I wish I had. I do have some pictures and notes regarding some of them. The kids have most of them.
I print a page with the picture of the quilt, and then put in the name, size, pattern, date, fabrics, and who I made it for.
I had started a journal of them in a three ring binder. Haven't kept up with it. But do have pictures of all my quilts and still know enough to catch it up.
My DH's aunt got me started on that. Other info that she includes in her journals are: her favorite instructors, classes she has taken, or taught, how she got her start, and any other information that her kids, grandkids and others would find interesting as they see or have her quilts. I had even kept pieces of the fabrics I used in the quilts which is nice to have if you give the quilt away or sell it. You will have the picture as well as the fabric. |
I just decorated a small scrapbook, now to add pictures
I bought two cheap scrapbooks and made a page for each of the quilts I've made. I keep swatches of fabrics, date that I started and finished, some of the thoughts I've had. I love journaling, do it faithfully and have a small (dollar store purchased) journal for each of my quilts.
Have pictures of most of them and keeping thinking I'll get them put in a album with the information about the quilts.
I should, but I don't. :(
