Do You Know Why

It is always winter on "Hogan's Heroes"?

Flammable and Inflammable mean the same thing?

Lt. Columbo never gets a promotion if he solves every case he's had?

People pouring coffee in the movies only pour about 1/4 of a cup?

Phone numbers in old movies have almost all 1's?

Until you mentioned it, Anne, I never gave it any thought, but how right you are! ROFL!

I love how in-tune with particular details you are related to retro television! And here I thought I was savvy regarding.

Another one I just thought of is cigarette smoking. How often do you see a woman light a cigarette, take a drag (or two), then stub it out. LOL!

Love your take on this! :)

I do watch a lot of television. I love old movies, and sometimes I see the same ones several times. That is when I start looking more intently. :)

Boston 1954 I don't know the answers but you got me thinking of several things. How come there are so many murders when J.B.Fletcher is near? Would I want to be her friend?
Do movie stars ever finish a meal or their coffee?

On a local level - why do people leave about 1/4 inch of coffee in their cups?

Because it gets cold. That's why I leave mine

Boston, you're a hoot! I'll bet Bette Davis smoked all her cigarettes down to the nub hahaha
I've never watched Hogan's Heroes but loved Columbo- he was so cool!!!
I love old movies. For some reason my husband and I watch them all winter. Fun! Probably because baseball season ends in November. And of course, we've watched them all multiple times. Everything about them is enjoyable.

the snow in Hogan's bothered me too. Schultz picked flowers in Klink's yard, the prisoners plant flowers to disguise a dirt trail, they go out to pick grapes...
I looked it up a couple of years ago, the constant winter was so the episodes had continuity. Rerun older shows were picking up in popularity, and mixed up they were always in order, so to speak.
After the first season, they used salt to mimic snow.

What I noticed is that no one ever needs to use the restroom!

And even married people slept in separate beds and the men wore pajamas and the women wore pajamas or a nightgown.
