I have been working on some embroidery blocks for a couple years now and may someday get them all finished. They are animals that are inspired by a celtic design. All have some celtic type knot or form to it and my clan crest for the McCleods of Harris. I'm still trying to find the McClure family crest and verify that it is the right crest.
My friend did one a few years back that took her a couple years to make that is all Native american symbols that petain to her familys native heritage. It was beautiful when she finished. I hope to finish some day, but the blocks take so long.

I just finished a nine block SunBonnet Sue wall hanging. And I have made twelve 8 by 10 fruit blocks and am deciding what to do with them. I love to embroider and quilt and am trying to make something using both of them.

Hi,

Would love for others to post pictures of the quilt blocks that they have made. Also if you find any free pattern links online to post so we can all share them.

One of our board members sent me a note looking for hand embroidery links for blocks

Here is one of mine - I have actually made this quilt twice - same blocks, same sashing but different machine quilting on each one.

You can still get Aunt Martha's iron on transfers & the 1930's McKim, Nancy Page, etc. newspaper embroidery/applique patterns are very popular now.

I have a lot of snowman blocks that I embroidered a couple of winters ago. The are done in redwork. When I find them (they have got to be in this room somewhere) I will put the quilt together. I would like to get some patterns for old fashioned santas, but haven't been able to find any. I would do those in redwork, too.
