Do you make Sun Tea?

If so what other types of recipes do you have for Sun Tea?

We are to get to 82 degrees today in central Indiana so I am making me a jug of sun tea.

I love suntea but have to add sugar to mine.

before the snow starts flying!

Yep, I love some sun tea.

I also like mine sweetened. :) Southern style. I love me some sweetened tea.

How are you doing? Hope you are hanging in there. Hugs.

I haven't in years. When we lived in the country, I did all the time. We moved to the city and it was stolen off our porch. Now we are back in the country and I forgot about it.

I do it all the time. Even in winter. :) Best sun then.

Our high will be 40 degrees today. I'm staying and plan to do a quilt for kids today.

Used to make it all the time in the 70's. Haven't thought about that for years!

My husband loves sun tea - I like mine brewed then iced. I believe he takes a gallon jug - add water and several tea bags (Lipton) - then set it out to brew. I always think the sun tea has a sour taste that is why I like mine brewed. Now I will have to make some...

Years ago I had heard that it is unwise to brew your tea in the sun. The water can not get hot enough to destroy the bacteria in the tea bags and they multiply in the warm temperature of the tea water setting in the sun.
Now, with that said, I have brewed tea in a jar in the sun and I am still alive.

Sun tea does not brew properly. It can have bacteria in it steeping in warm water. There was a warning about this a few years ago when sun tea was popular to make. And the taste is like old tea because it wasn't brewed properly. I don't know about using the tea bags for cold brewing. That tea may be treated to not form bacteria. But then you don't need the sun to make that.
