I didn't know about pintrest but I love it. Instead of clicking on all kinds of links it is all there and it loads super fast for me. I have to visit them more often as I am a very visual person. Quilt picture smorgash board. Yum!

i am guilty of pinning stuff from here but I ALWAYS ALWAYS put a note that it came from the QUILTING BOARD. I have them labeled under "Quilts I Love". I see a couple of my quilts there too and am flattered that someone actually liked my work enough to post. I am however a rule follower so if I find out it's illegal I will definitely stop!

That's exactly why I don't post pics of my family or personal stuff! I don't even use my own picture or those of my family in my avatar. I even crop pictures so that you can't see anything inside my house!

Pinterest is no different than your bookmarks. The only difference is that it is visual rather than textual (textural?). I agree with Bernie. I don't post family photos on the internet without their permission and I'm too lazy to get that. Therefore, the only photos you see is of feet and hands as they hold up a quilt to be photographed. My cats, on the other hand, go on the internet all the time! I thought it was pretty cool that several of my quilts have been pinned by others!

Beautiful quilts! I belong to Pinterest and I love it!

Whether we like it or not, the world as we know it today, has NO privacy. Think before posting. Too many strange stories of folks being fired, etc from 'innocent' facebook posting, etc. It's just the world we live in, no right or wrong to it.

I don't Pinterest so no. Could something of mine end up there? Of course, Quiltingboard is a public forum that can be viewed by anyone that is way you should never include personal information or email addresses. Once anything is on the web it is beyond your control, period.

If you Goggle a pattern for a quilt or block often times you get directed to the QuiltingBoard...nothing is sacred.

Yes I do "Pin" a bit ... lots of neat things there!
I also don't see an issue with quilts being pinned ... many here post their photos on other sites, so why the concern about permission or copyright etc ?
That said, I haven't pinned from QB. But it's a nice compliment to be Pinned! Mostly a lot of bloggers sharing neat things and inspiration ...
IF you don't want your photos/projects to be shared, you best NOT go out on the public domain of the web!!
ps. you also don't have to give access to join, you can deny that part - I did.

I don't pintrest, but one reason I don't post pictures often is that my quilts are normally intensely personal and I don't want personal pictures all over the web. I don't do Facebook for the same reason. I prefer to protect my privacy and that of my family.
