I realized, after reading the thread about what the average age of the quilter on this board is, that I haven't updated that avatar of mine for some years. I think I was 60 in my old avatar.

Well, here is my latest one. Hubby took it today on my way out to Christmas shop for a few things and just for the record. I was 70 in October.

Now, as I was walking around the mall and doing a lot of looking, I had to take a minute to be, ever so grateful, that at my age, I can walk and move around at will. It never occurs to me that I am old hahahahahah.

But, I am very grateful for my life and the way it is. I don't like to take things for granted.

What a beautiful picture - and your thinking is so positive

Hi, I turned 70 in August and have been shopping a few times lately. Hubby doesn't care to shop so I go with my 28 year old grandson. Usually a little slow getting up the next day, but not bad. 70 isn't bad either.

You don't look a day over 55 to me! I hope I look so healthy and great at 70!

I do update my avatar occasionally. I figure that after awhile, no one notices the same one anymore. It is fun to change it up a bit. :)

SandyinZ4 12-22-2010 09:12 PM

I think it is good to change it once in a while. That way others can see some of our projects or our pets. Which reminds me that I should change mine to give you something different to look at.

I change mine sometime.Depends on what is going on.

cjomomma 12-22-2010 09:35 PM

I have changed mine a few times. The one I have now is the most recent one after losing weight.

Btw rosy you are a very young looking 70 and very beautiful!

Colorful Quilter 12-22-2010 10:51 PM

Wow, you look great....quilting keeps us young, don't you think?

scowlkat 12-23-2010 12:34 AM

Hey, compared to Methusaleh, you are a baby! HA! I look older than you and I am 55! Yes I updated my avatar recently since it is my wonderful grandson who is now 9 mos. old.

You look MAV-E-LUS!

raptureready 12-23-2010 03:19 AM

Great pic and love the positive attitude. I have a great friend, Mary, who is 96 and makes me look like a shirker. She walks everywhere (even tho she can drive still if a long distance is required). She gardens, sews, makes homemade gifts for people all the time and never forgets to send a card or visit a sick friend. She also has a great positive attitude and looks up age as only a number. May God bless us all this way.

I am retiring on the 31st and she is as excited for me as if it were her. She retired at the same time 30 years ago. May I be so amazing in my retirement as she is.

I don't change mine. That way I can find myself quickly to see if I've already posted to a topic. This is my origingal avatar.

MrsM 12-23-2010 07:49 AM

You look beauitful! Merry Christmas to you and your hubby.

kathy 12-23-2010 07:52 AM

I don't and honestly I HATE it when others do. it's like your voice, it's how I recognize you, I may forget your name but I can look at your avatar and know if I "know" you or not. like BJ,
Patrice and I have never changed either.

Jim's Gem 12-23-2010 10:01 AM

I have never changed mine. I don't know how. Maybe sometime I will ask my kids for some help and change it, but for now, it is staying!!

Thank you ladies for all the compliments. I do believe that crafting, weather it be quilting, painting, sewing or whatever, does keep you young in spirit and body. Of course with a little help.

Happiness is doing something completly for yourself and this is what we do, when we craft. ...and happiness keeps you young and healthy... it's a large part of the whole.

I went out again today to shop a little but I just wanted to walk around and feel the spirit of Christmas. Finding a 50% sale plus another 30% if you opened a credit card at Macy's, was not bad either lol.

I always do that and then cancel the card after a few months.....

I had such a good time today, I might go again tomorrow lol.
