My oldest daughter is a quilter, too and my youngest daughter can sew, but the middle one has no interest in sewing except to say "Mom, can you fix this?" My oldest DD and I were fabric shopping when she told me that I didn't want a certain piece of fabric. I asked her why. She told me that she was the one who would inherit my stash and she wanted to like what I buy. Hahaha! :roll:

My daughter cross stitches. She's better than I am at it. She does beautiful work.
She's dabbled a bit in quilting - nothing big, some doll quilts and she wants to do some baby quilts this year. She's only 16 so she's just getting started :)

Oldest and youngest both quilt. The oldest does quite a lot and the younger has off and on, just starting again since she has a little time now. The middle one does not sew but appreciates all things hand made.

my DD quilts and I have told her to NOT let her dad anywhere near my sewing room when I go beyond...She'll have a job getting rid of all this

My daughter, age 38, would not know which end of a needle to put the thread into! ;-) She has absolutely no interest in sewing at all.

I started to teach my two granddaughters, ages 6 & 7, a bit about sewing when we were there at Christmas, but it is kind of hard to have much continuity with the lessons when I see them only about twice a year for about a week.

My DIL does a little sewing and quilting, but doesn't have much time to devote to it. She has two little girls, is going to school full time, working part time and is pregnant.

None of my 5 daughters learned to sew. They were not interested. Five of my granddaughters love to sew with me, some more than others. Here is a picture of granddaughter, Holly's 2nd quilt. She is 12.

I did all the cutting, and bound it. She did all the piecing and the quilting on the long arm. We pinned it on together.

When I told her that she had to quilt it on grandma's big machine, her eyes got so wide. She did great. I told her she could just move it anywhere, even write her name. She loved that and put it in a couple of times.

I have always said someone needs to know how to use all these machines to inherit them. i have lots of prospects. LOL

I have two sons who were (and are) only interested in sports. My DIL is interested in quilting--hooray--but wants to wait a couple of years since they have a 4-year old, 2-year old, and 9-month old. No one else in my family sews or quilts, and I am the youngest of a large family, but I'm holding out hope for my DIL and 9-month old GD.

One of my daughters sews. She is caught up right now raising two children and volunteering at the school and the town library and doesn't have much time to sew. She has made a couple quilts. My oldest son has a sewing machine and will use it to repair things.

My daughter does not quilt, but I have high hopes that some day soon my grand daughter will catch the quilting bug. She'll be 4 in April and so far she doesn't like my sewing room because of the noisy bobbin winder *pouts*
