Does anyone else do this?
When looking at pictures of quilts do you think to yourself: "I have that fabric and that one..."? I am guilty of this. LOL
Scrap quilts are my favourites for spotting fabrics that I have in my stash.
Yes, it's fun playing "I Spy" with fabrics. I sometime think, wish I still had that.
Ummm, Yesss. I say that softly. I am trying hard not to buy fabric. recently found some lovely cat prints i got. Must make something with those soon.
When I see a picture of a quilt that I like, in my mind's eye, I try to break down a single block of it to see if I can make it without a pattern.
I tend to download any quilt that catches my eyes and put it into a future quilt folder. Then when I'm looking for a new pattern to try out, I go to that folder and cruise thru all my photos I've downloaded. If I have decded on a pattern, I'll make a separate folder for it and add photos that others have made of it so I can see color combos, arrangement of blocks to help me decide how to make mine.
If the photo no longer catches my eye, it gets deleted. |
Lol really!

Yes. Far too often.

Always! I went to the San Jose Quilt Musem, and I saw a quilt by Michael James which was pretty famous, and I noticed that he used a lot of fabric that I had in my stash. And I thought to myself why couldn't I have ever made anything so amazing!
