I HATE pepper. Makes me sneeze even if it is cooked into the recipe.

ShowMama 08-10-2011 05:36 AM

I like pepper a lot and use it in cooking all the time. Two things I absolutely have to put lots of pepper on are hamburgers and salad. I know, that's strange, but they just don't taste right if I don't add lots of pepper. My husband says, "Would you like a little burger with your pepper?" On salad I especially like fresh ground pepper from a pepper mill. Also, the older I get, the more I like it.

jitkaau 08-10-2011 05:57 AM

I like all sorts of pepper-white,black,green,cayenne etc.Have an intolerance for apples, even though I think they are yummy.

Scakes 08-10-2011 06:16 AM

Not me. I love love love it!!

We like pepper on our salads too! Either coarse grind or freshly ground with the pepper mill. Really makes that salad sparkle.

I hate it too, if I use it its very spareingly, my dad was allergic to it. So I think there is a few of us around.

Rann 08-10-2011 07:47 AM

I never use very much because that is all I can taste. I only put it in dressing and squagh or eggplant casseroles. I don't want onions around at all either.

Farm Quilter 08-10-2011 08:01 AM

I adore pepper...would not want to cook/eat without it!!! Definitely use more pepper than salt. I can just see a cup of clam chowder with the top almost totally black with pepper...yum   and I can see most of you running to the loo at the thought  Sorry  just love pepper.

Quiltbeagle 08-10-2011 08:34 AM

I use black pepper occasionally and only a tiny bit when I do, and very rarely use salt when cooking. I also don't eat bell peppers because of the nasty heartburn it gives me (not to mention the price they want for it at the grocery stores!).

mpeters1200 08-10-2011 09:09 AM

I am with you and I hate the stuff. I also cannot stand the taste of salt either. I do bake cookies and stuff with salt, only because I'm scared it'll mess it up if I don't use it.

I never used to have grooves in my tongue, but I sure do now and as I get older, they get deeper. When I was younger I could eat not only black pepper, but lots and lots of salsa, hot peppers, even hot sauce at a chinese restaurant. Not anymore. I will not eat food at restaurants unless I'm absolutely sure it won't have pepper on it. My DH uses salt and pepper so much I can't imagine that he actually knows what his food is supposed to taste like.

Monika 08-10-2011 10:24 AM

I love pepper! I use a lot of this spice called Hot-Shot. It is half black pepper and half red pepper. I love it! Not crazy about salt.

charlotte37830 08-10-2011 10:42 AM

My DGS doesn't like pepper because as he puts it "There's dirt on it".

Cindy2sew 08-10-2011 12:26 PM

I can deal with either salt or pepper. I prefer pepper. The one thing I cant stand is vinegar or anything made with it. No salad dressings(except blue cheese or ranch), pickles, and lately I HATE ketchup because I can taste the vinegar in it.

Love pepper....the hotter the better !

Beffy_Boo 08-10-2011 01:24 PM

NO THANK YOU TO PEPPER! I prefer the taste of the food, not "seasonings." Absolutely hate it when I order any meat of fish and it comes from the kitchen black with pepper and other stuff. I want to taste the meat or vegetable. Many spices tear up my tummy. A little salt is ok but that's about it.

aronel 08-10-2011 01:45 PM

I'm not crazy about pepper, I can live without it, but don't take my salt shaker away!!

ploverwi2 08-10-2011 01:48 PM

I actually love having ground pepper on certain foods. Recently I read online, about it's benefits, and now I like it even more. So I am surely one of the weird ones :)

I am not so bad with pepper ,but I hate all the salt that is added. I never cook with it myself, and when someone says that something is well seasoned, I can't eat it.

I also can't eat peppers (the vegetable) - does terrible things to my digestion.

...about the vegetable peppers...some of us from New England carry a genetic variation, so that those peppers taste like "ivory Soap" to us! although I love black pepper!

MadQuilter 08-10-2011 03:19 PM

Love the pepper - fresh cracked in the mill. We also have the peppers in the garden: Green bell peppers, banana peppers, italian.....jalapeno. rrrrrrrrrr

suern3 08-10-2011 03:35 PM

I like pepper and salt, even on popcorn. My brothers taught me that when I was a little girl. I like almost all spicy foods. Well actually, I like almost all food!

teacherbailey 08-10-2011 03:58 PM

I can't stand it and don't cook with it, though I'll eat food with a little black pepper if I love it otherwise. I use little salt (a habit started when I was pregnant 31 years ago!) as well. Too much salt is just awful to me. I don't like any kind of peppers either....

madamekelly 08-10-2011 04:12 PM

I probably use way too much black and white pepper, but I never use salt. I can't stand the taste of it. It runs in my family, dad was the same way.

Mariposa 08-10-2011 04:22 PM

I love pepper! Course grind is great, but fresh milled is the best!! Put it on lots of things. Like spicy food in general~
Don't care for green peppers tho. Just the smell of them turns my tummy. (can thank my dad for that when I was a kid!)
Same with onions.

ksea 08-10-2011 04:34 PM

You are not the only one, I really dislike it too!!

Dolphyngyrl 08-10-2011 05:23 PM

I like red pepper but absolutely hate black pepper on anything, so you are not alone

I agree. Why can't restaurants let patrons add their own seasoning? Whenever I go out I have to order my food without seasoning or I just can't enjoy it.

cherrio 08-10-2011 05:49 PM

i pepper most of my food. not as harmful as the salt I used to use. and I like the taste. love salt too but it is bad press

Tinabug 08-10-2011 06:04 PM

I cannot imagine cooking without the basic seasonings. I use sea salt and buy really good peppercorns to grind. Not in excess but to enhance whatever food I am preparing. I also, love really good chili peppers, not the kind that blister your taste buds, but those that have good flavor and hang on just a bit. I'm not into self destruction, but enjoy flavors on the edge. Most of my friends have tender palates and I try to accommodate them when I cook for the crowd. Of course I'm from Texas and this type of cooking was normal for me.

decky 08-10-2011 08:04 PM

I like pepper but not salt. When I was a teenager (many years ago) my mother had open heart surgery and one of the things she could not use was salt for a whole year and that meant not cooking with it or using it at the table. I got use to eating that way and to this day use very little salt.

jollyquilting 08-10-2011 08:30 PM

I don't like much pepper either and I don't like the hot peppers either.

luv2so 08-11-2011 01:43 AM

Nope, you're not the only one. I'm with you. If there's pepper on something that's all I taste too. I sent coleslaw back once because it had pepper on it. Don't these restaurants consider that maybe someone has an ulcer or stomach problems and can't eat pepper?

When I cook I don't salt or pepper. I always tell guests I don't salt or pepper because of different tastes and needs. Always tell them to feel free to add whatever they'd like, I don't get offended. Some people with high bloodpressure can't have salt, others due to stomach problems can't have pepper or spicy food. I do use other spices when I cook though.

Absolutely hate the taste of pepper.

alikat110 08-11-2011 09:32 PM

Love the taste!

pojo 08-12-2011 01:47 AM

I love pepper.
But I hate salt don't use it in cooking.

Pzazz 08-17-2011 05:56 PM

No pepper or dill for this gal!!!

Patti

jolo 09-17-2011 05:26 AM

I love pepper and peppers of any kind. DDIL cant stand black pepper but loves jalapenas. lol

Sheila_H 09-17-2011 06:26 AM

I`m not a fan of pepper it tends to burn the roof of my mouth or make me sneeze. When we go out my hubby always wants the fresh pepper and then they immediately go to put it on my food I have to put my hand across the plate so they won`t do it.

BellaBoo 09-17-2011 06:41 AM

I use a pepper mill that grinds the pepper to dust. It melts in the food and tastes nothing like ground pepper.

nativetexan 09-17-2011 07:21 AM

well, since i havent' used salt in decades-i love pepper.

amandasgramma 09-17-2011 07:25 AM

I'm not a fan....I don't put it ON my food but will use it IN food when cooking. DH puts so much on his food, all his food is black!!!!!

orangeroom 09-17-2011 07:26 AM

Can't stand it! If there's one sprinkle of it in my scrambled eggs, I consider them ruined.
