Doll clothes
A week or so ago someone posted a site for American Girl clothes. Can anyone help me find it again?

I just made this set of PJ for my DGD. It is a great pattern. I will be using the bottoms for regular pants pattern also.

Since we are on this topic can anyone tell me if there is a similar doll that isn't so expensive. I want to make charity gifts for Christmas with clothes but I can't afford the original American Girl doll.

Maybe you can find a used one?
My DGD just spent the night last night - we made Barbie clothes out of socks. She has so much trouble seeing and sewing tiny things... I google searched and found Barbie clothes made out of socks. We had a BLAST cutting up socks and putting holes in them. I doubt if we made permanent clothes but Barbie isn't naked any more - she's fairly modest - DGD had a lot of fun and now she can do something herself. Then since we didn't use up the cut up odd pieces of my stash, we sewed 3 blocks for a crazy quilt. She was ssoooo excited. Trying to match corners for her is a trial so this will be a good way for her to make her own quilt. |

Made this last year for DGD, it's a 2 shelf bookcase!! Caught it on sale. The shelf was lowered, the bar installed with shower curtain holders!

I bought an 18 inch doll with a cloth body like AG at one of the stores like Dollar General, etc. can't remember the exact name of the store. I got it for a model to use while making doll clothes for DGD AG doll. It worked well for that purpose plus the girls like to play with her while they are at our house. It cost around 12 dollars. Walmart also has a doll similar to AG, can't think what they call her but looks much the same and costs much less.
