Dress decorated w/Fabric Crayons
1 Attachment(s)
I just came across the photographs that I took of a dress that I made for my DGD in 2000. I created the designs with crayola fabric crayons on a large sheet of paper (images and letters must be backwards) then iron the designs onto plain ivory fabric. I then cut out the pattern pieces and this is my result. (The crayon box, of 6 or 7 colors, has the directions.) I really wish that I had asked my DIL to save it for me when my DGD grew out of it. Sigh! Too late!

beautiful, and so creative. I'm surprised she didn't keep it to dress a teddy or doll.

WOW - a labor of love. Would be nice to frame it or put a piece in a quilt!

Oh my, she didn't keep it? That is such a shame. It would have been nice to keep or reuse in a quilt for your DGD. Maybe I'm just a "keeper" of things. I know some like my SIL, are not. Sure was a pretty dress.

Really cute too bad it's not around any more.
|
Probably your DIL felt another little girl would enjoy the dress so she shared it with her?
Glad you had a picture to remember this special gift for your DGD. Nice creation/job! |
That is a really cute dress, thanks for sharing.

Have you asked her what she did with it you never know she might have had some fore thought. The neat dresses I made for my girls got passed through the neighborhood and were well loved.

great idea, if I only had a grandchild. One of the people in my quilt group colors her cross-stitch blocks, before stitching. It really makes the design "pop".

So creative - wonderful!
