dresses that I have been making
 

Here is my new addiction(for a little while anyways....lol). I've been working on these off and on. With it being so hot here, I couldn't do any quilting :( The good thing is that the weather is much better now and I can quilt some more. My friend is willing to trade with me. She's going to have pictures taken of her daughter with my dresses on and I made her a dress. She does hair bows and tutu's. So she is going to try to match bows to put in her daughters hair to match the dresses so we can both use the pictures.
We have a craft show coming up in a few weeks. So I've got them all tagged and on hangers. They are all ready to go. Hopefully, I make enough back to cover the booth fees. The smaller towns are horrible up here for craft shows. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It will be fun and it's good to get out of the house once in a while.

lol...I know, my girls loved dresses when they were little. I wish I had a little girl again. She would have SOOOO many dresses. My oldest was telling me how she thinks they are so cute and wishes she was younger. I told her I could probably make her one that fits and she laughed at me. She won't wear one now. 15 yr olds...lol!!!!

Adorable! you should have trouble selling them. I know I would buy one If i could. I don't have a little girl,but, know a few. A great gift. My girls wore dresses when they were young all the time. Now they wear big girl dresses!

heather, the craft shows aren't too much better here in the city/suburbs...I really miss the days when you knew that you would be making a good amount of money at the shows...
The dresses are really sweet...I don't see any reason for them not selling.

You may need to do a 2 for $ price in the later afternoon...customers love to get that kind of deal. If they are selling for $16 for one...make it 2 for $28 or whatever sounds good to you.

I used to live in a huge city and my mom quit her job to do crafts. We did craft shows almost every weekend. It was around so many big cities and didn't have to travel very far to get to them all. We moved to the boonies. Out of all the shows up here we have done...it's nothing like the bigger cities. I would have to drive about 5-6 hours to get to a good show and I don't plan on doing that...hahaha.
That is a good idea about doing the 2 for a price. I am going to try that.

Those are cute! :thumbup: My "almost" 9-1/2 yo granddaughter is "into" skirts (the more ruffles, the better). You might want to make a few of those, as well. They seem to be a popular item, right now. :)

Thank you everyone. I had gone with a friend today to have her and the photographers daughter dress up in the dresses I made. I can't wait to see how they turn out. One kid was having so much fun and the other was camera shy today. :)

They look lovely and good luck with the markets. I'm curious though...did you make these from quilting cottons? I'm wanting to make dresses to sell too, hopefully through facebook, and I'm still undecided as to which fabrics to stick to.

Yes. I'm using quilting cottons. They work just fine. I made my son some shorts to see how they hold up and they are still great. He's been wearing them for a while now and no wear on them. Go for it. :)

Love those! You could also do skirts, bucket hats, simple bags... A fashion line is born! Another super cute thing is a doll's dress to match. I hope you make some money on your venture, and have fun!

I did a couple of skirts also. I think 5 of them. My friend makes the bucket hats. I have a pattern for them, but haven't tried them yet. I hope some goes. It would be nice so I can keep making stuff. It's hard to keep making and not having the room to store it all. I'm running out of bins.....and space!!!! :)
