the 10 year old laptop as a matter of fact... the one with a serial port AND a floppy drive AND a parallel port AND a dvd player...
Redid the Win98 on the drive (a whopping 4 gig!) (with 128MEG of ram)....

and then hunted up my old PSW software
and Buzz Tools
and my embroidery files that I haven't even LOOKED AT in years...

might uncover the Singer xl1000 and the Brother 2003D and see if I still remember how to use them

The new laptops come with all the latest greatest Windows software and all my old programs won't even load let alone run - and even if they did the PSW HAS to have the card reader attached... and the Brother uses floppy disks

Took awhile to even find the old Restore cds for the computer, let alone round up all the disks and floppies and stuff (we've moved since I used all this stuff last - sheesh and that was 2003 8-)

Laughing at the floppy drive part, as I saw some floppy disks the other day at a store. :)

ha ha, I bet it was Dirt Cheep!! Cause I'm going over to one today to GET SOME of those floppies cause I pitched all mine YEARS ago - and FORGOT to save a couple for the Brother 2003D!

It's really disheartening to spend upwards of a thousand dollars on embroidery software and then find out the companies do NOT support upgrades to the newer operating systems. And then computers dropped the serial port and people went through all kinds of stuff to get the PSW writer to work.

I have a blue gazillion embroidery files - downloaded free, digitized my own, collections bought - I'll never need a new one as long as I live but it sure is nice to be able to use the ones I've got!

There's also a favorite draw program that won't even load on the newer Windows that I'm going to install also...
And the laptop is dedicated to embroidery! Altho, I am considering maybe putting EQ5 on it....

My old Win98 computer is my favorite one, because it can run DOS, and I still like playing the old DOS games without those emulator programs.

My digital camera is so old it uses floppies instead of memory sticks.

I would love a newer camera, but would be heartbroken to lose Win98.
