I've never taken off the bar holder, I just replace the insert when it gets low. I love not having to remember to put dryer sheets in all the time.

I only replace the insert. I love the bar. It works great for me. I use the four month size. I only have small loads to dry so that may be a factor on how well it works. And the four month bar lasts me over six months. So two bars a year. I bought 12 bars when they were on sale. I won't have to spend money on softener for six years. That's money in the bank!

I concur with just replacing the insert! It sure beats using fabric softener or the sheets in the dryer.

I had one in my dryer for about 4 loads...mostly darks...All the clothes came out with the white stuff like you used to get from deodorant.
|
I have BALLS..no sticky residue, NO chemicals from the sheets...LOVE my balls!

Goo-Gone. Best stuff ever.
