I just received old statements from paypal, saying that the seller sent my purchases. They were all from last year. Anyone get any old statements from them? I was wondering if it is for tax purposes. Would have been nice if they would explain why the sent them.........Thank you, Michele

I have never personally received anything by mail from ebay. And I have had an ebay account for 9 years. I would call them to find out why they did that. :)

I've never received anything from them like that.

I would go on-line to ebay customer service and see what that is about. Sounds fishy.

sueisallaboutquilts 02-23-2011 01:24 PM

Hmmm... never got anything like that.
I would contact Paypal.

I've been on ebay since 1999 and I've never gotten anything like that.

I'd quickly change my ebay and Paypal passwords.
And also send a copy of the email to them.
But don't hit "reply" in that email.
Type ebay and Paypal's contact address in manually.

Allot of scams going on...call them. I just recently got an email from supposively paypal asking for information because they had put a limit on my acct...called them immediately was told to send the email to them and found out it's a scam so I'd click on their site give info and they'd wipe out my acct.

I did hear the I.R.S. is going to make Ebay start issuing 1099's to sellers....

lynnsim 02-23-2011 01:43 PM

I agree that this is just another scam. Do go to PayPal site and do not click on the e-mail.

quiltilicious 02-23-2011 01:43 PM

change your PayPal password... it does sound unusual. I've had paypal for forever, and have never gotten old statements.

Are these items you've actually purchased in the past?

only to those with over 20,000 net income AND over 200 transactions-starting 2011 tax year ------ sounds like a scam I can't find it now but did a google and found the info

I have only used ebay and paypal a couple of times and it was a loooong time ago - so whenever I get something from them I know it is fake and just delete it immediately! Be careful.

dutchie 02-23-2011 02:09 PM

Sure sounds like a phishing email to me. Forward them to [email protected] and see what they have to say about them. If they're legit, they'll tell you. In the meantime, do not, under any circumstances, open any of the links contained in the body of the email.
