e-mail address caution
My e-mail has a feature that if I start to type in a name for an address, it comes up with a list.
I Know I have chosen the name I want - and when I go to look in the "sent" file - a similar name has shown up. Example: I wanted: rickzilla, and was certain that was what I had selected - but when I looked, Ricky5678 was where it went. So the point of this post - double check your address before pressing "send" - By the way, this also happens with the PM addresses, too. So - say I wanted to send something to Susie S - the "system" might decide that Susie Sunshine was where I wanted it to go. I have learned to put the semi-colon after a name where I wanted it to stop. Example: If you wanted to send something to bearitis, but not to bearisgray, type in bearitis; (with the colon at the end) and then you will be somewhat assured that I would not get it. |
ha! really. thanks. I emailed my step dtr on private email, not here, and she never answered. Hmmm.

Good point. When I was working, my husband and I both worked for the State of WI. Occasionally I would get emails addressed to my husband. And some contained info I probably shouldn't hear.

My list that pops up when I start to type in a name for an e-mail has the name and the e-mail address, so there would be no confusion. I can see the actual name of the recipient before I click on their e-mail address.

yep, my bad. i should have noticed my email went to my step dtr's contest one she set up for a family history quilt. no wonder she didn't reply.

Sounds like computer email has come up with "spell check", like our phones have. The phone spell check makes too many mistakes quicker than my eye can see.
