Eleanor Burns is very ill.

All I know is what is on Facebook: Eleanor Burns is quite sick. Open-heart surgery sick.

Good grief..... I love Eleanor! Hope she'll be O.K. soon. Didn't her sister pass away not all that long ago from heart related issues?

zennia 09-11-2015 12:29 PM

Saying a prayer for one of my favorite quilter/teacher.
Thank You for letting us know.

tessagin 09-11-2015 12:41 PM

Sending prayers her way for good recovery. Wonder if that's why her show hasn't been on for awhile. Her shows weren't as repetitive as others.

Stitchnripper 09-11-2015 12:45 PM

Holy moly. Not good news. I hope they fix her up. She has taught me a lot and I do enjoy her.

Stitchnripper 09-11-2015 01:13 PM

Can you link a site for us? Mr Google has nothing. At least I couldn't find it.

I feel the same way. She is the last of the quilting teacher I have learn to quilt from.

nativetexan 09-11-2015 03:19 PM

Oh goodness. I just attended a talk at our LQS by her sister, Pat K and she said they had lost two sisters before their 70's and she and Eleanor were still going strong. (()) to her and her family.

Sandra in Minnesota 09-11-2015 04:57 PM

WOW- Be praying for her.

DottyD 09-12-2015 02:47 AM

I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Gannyrosie 09-12-2015 02:53 AM

She put a note on FB saying that her Doctor advised her to have this surgery . Here's the link https://www.facebook.com/eleanor.burns.988?fref=ts

LilaKay 09-12-2015 03:02 AM

Dear Friends,
Life is what happens while we're busy making other plans and quilting. This is certainly true for me. At my doctor's suggestion, I will be having heart surgery next week. I am fortunate to have an excellent staff at Quilt in a Day to carry on as I recuperate.

I appreciate your prayers and good wishes as I mend.

Sincerely,
Eleanor Burns

This is the post from Facebook this morning...I learned how to make quilts with her books! Love this lady. She needs our prayers right now

Prayers for Eleanor, her family and the medical staff taking care of her. She is a wonderful teacher and fun loving person. I have learned a lot from her as I am sure many others have too.

Thank you for this information, Eleanor and her program on PBS is what got me started in the world of quilting. Log Cabin in a Day was my very first quilt and the rest is history. My thoughts and prayers go out to her, her family and friends as she goes through this time in her life. God Bless all!

Geri B 09-12-2015 05:05 AM

..so many of us have EB to thank for our journey here......now she needs our prayers/healing thoughts to continue her journey.

Wanabee Quiltin 09-12-2015 05:58 AM

I was just finishing up one of her quilt patterns and thought about how many I have made from her books. There are many quilters I like but she is my favorite of all. A great lady.

Yooper32 09-12-2015 06:02 AM

Many prayers will be going up for this great teacher, friend and all-around wonderful lady.

I was fortunate to take a class from Eleanor a few years ago. She was so much fun! She made sure that every one of us had a great time.

There was a picture of her at Disneyland posted yesterday. She did say she was going to some heart surgery next week. I wish her a speedy recovery. She was very influential in my quilting. We use to love to watch her on PBS.

annievee 09-12-2015 09:57 AM

Our RFD tv channel still airs her old, old shows and yes, I keep watching. I don't quilt much but she has taught me a lot about quilting.
