electric wall-mounted fireplace
Any ideas on how to hide the cord that will dangle below a mounted fireplace?
We need an innovative way to deal with it. All those beautiful ones I see on Google images have no cords beneath them. I know that you can run the cord through the wall but we don't want to do that. Any suggestions? |
I believe there are plastic rods with split in them you can use to cover. some can be painted too. maybe a Home Depot or Lowe's etc could be of help.

My son built a beautiful wood surround for his. It hides the cord and it looks just like a real fireplace now.

My DH is very handy. He moved the electrical outlet up behind the fireplace. He had to do some "behind the drywall" work but has done it in a few places in our home now - behind the fireplace, behind tvs, etc. He says it's not that difficult.

I am going to google how to do that. Maybe my DH can do it although he is not very handy with work like that. I wouldn't attempt it...probably wind up burning down the house!

Just a thought but how about a scrunchy fabric tube the color of the wall. It won't hide it totally but will make it blend in more than the black cord. Years ago, interior designers did these with lamp cords.

To all who replied.....thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. I still can't decide what to do.
