I have searched in several states for the glue tip for the elmer's glue and have been unable to find it. SSN never seems to have it to buy either. I just found this blog with info to make a smaller tip for elmer's glue and I thought I would share the information.I am planning to try this but so far I have no personal experience with it.

I had tried something similar, but with not so great results...the glue went everywhere! Maybe I didn't do it right. I found some empty bottles with fine tips at Michael's in the aisle with the acrylic paints. I just squeeze the Elmers into the small bottle and use that. Much less messy!

here's what I did. I took an old printer ink refill syringe and used that wide needle to make a tip. It works perfectly. You can get a set of 4 on ebay for $5.

Also, Elmer's now has a dual tip pen of washable school glue that contains a fine point on one end. I purchased one, but have not used it yet. I also think it should be refillable or for the price it may just be worth buying another pen. May not be as fine as some need, but check it out!

I ordered roxanne's basting glue in the accordion bottle. It's easy to refill with any glue and the tip is perfect. If you refill your own printer ink cartridges the accordion ink refills are excellent too. I have the metal tips that fit the Elmer's glue bottle but prefer the long nozzle of the accordion types.

Michaels or other craft stores that sell the little bottles of acrylic paint sell these tips.
They are on a card near the paints, 2 plastic tips, 3 metal ones. I paid less than $4 for the set.
The plastic tip screws onto the glue bottle, and then the metal tip onto that. :D:D:D

You do NOT need the extra tip. I do have one from my tole painting days but do not use it. Just open the bottle a little and it will squeeze out dots which is what you use. After it sits a second, hit with the iron and it stay in place....so much easier than fighting pins, especially when doing binding.
