Hi, everyone. Just read this scam email and wanted to alert you all to it.
This email asks you for your bank account, routing number, name, address and phone number, next of kin (their next victim, most likely), etc. Please let your friends and neighbors know that if they fall for this scam, this information will be used to clean out their bank accounts. I don't think most of us on this board will fall for this, but we probably all know someone who might. I think the use of Ben Bernanke's name as the emailer will lend credibility to the scam. But, as you can see, when you view the actual email address, ben bernanke is not the emailer. Cathy From: Ben S. I wouldn't because Ben's name means nothing to me :)

I have seen one similar in my personal emails - anything I don't recognize gets hit with delete. I would like to think that as consumers we are becoming more alert to con artists in every aspect of our daily lives.
Thanks for sharing and hope that it will prevent 1 if not more from heartache. |

Don't you love that they say "God bless you" at the end???
WOW~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
What?
Doesn't Ben usually send you personal emails to discuss your financial and banking situation... as they have such a great impact on the developing policies at the Federal Reserve? That Ben...he's a real hands-on kinda guy. Well, gotta give the scammers some points for originality. And also they have a pretty good handle on the .....well, on how many recipients wouldn't recognize the name. |
Thanks for warning.

Anyone who believes this one should not be let out of the house without their keeper.
