Embroidery of child's drawing

My GN drew this little picture when she was 4 1/2. She just turned 16. I loved it but the paper is falling apart. So I immortalized it in thread. It is a dinosaur eating a taco.

Tess, when my son was in kindergarten I took 12 of his drawings and embroidered them onto white fabric, alternated them with quilt blocks and made a him a quilt. 20+ years later I got around to quilting it--I traced HIS kids hand prints for the quilting. I guess that was a project that I didn't rush to finish LOL.

It also works as a tablecloth. An aunt covered her table in a white sheet and had everyone sign it...the kids doodled. Each year was done in a different color. For new babies the hand or foot print was embroidered. Each year it was fun to look back and see how the kids printing changed or the pictures they would add. You would have to enjoy embroidery if you had a large family!
