Would like to hand embroider a saying on a quilt. I don't have good penmanship - so, What suggestions do you have for transferring letters onto fabric. I bought a kit that had some fabric and a "pen" that you were supposed to write on the fabric. The color of the pen is blue, and it really doesn't come through onto the fabric. I can find some fonts that I like, but really don't know how to move them from copy paper on my pc to the material

Print it out on paper and then used a light box to trace the letters to the fabric. That might work if you can see through the fabric. Hopefully the fabric is light in color.

I have used chalk pencils, they come in white and a charcoal color. I would do a test on a piece of scrap no matter what method you choose.

I use a fine point pigma pen which you can purchase at any fabric store.

Depending on your printer, I've printed in reverse and then ironed the paper against the fabric. A faint shadow appears and it's enough for me to see & do what I need to.

I have traced letters to tissue paper, basted the shape to the fabric & then embroidered through that. When you are done, you just tear the tissue paper off.

I did this method to make a challah bread cover for a friend.

I am going to transfer a design onto a product called Transfer Eze for my Quilt Buddy. It is a water soluable product

1. Copy design onto TE paper
2. Peel away the backing and stick to project fabric.
3. Stitch the design
4. Cut excess away, then soak in cold water to remove the remainder.

I would think you could print your design from your PC file to the paper.
