Embroidery question

I have a Pfaff Creative Performance machine and have been embroidering on beach towels (thin nap) for several days. Having an extra bobbin to use when I embroider, I can adjust the tension as necessary. After doing many, many towels successfully, the machine messed up one towel (luckily near the end of my project) and there was no way I could adjust that bobbin to prevent the underneath thread from showing on top! I cleaned out the bobbin area thoroughly, re-threaded the machine, changed the needle and the bobbin thread. I even played with the top tension, which helped somewhat. Nothing seemed to correct the situation fully. Have any of you embroiderers out there
suggestions for me?

I bought a used CV last year and currently working on my first project on it, an embroidered quilt. The only problem like yours I have encountered, is when using the pre-would bobbins and they get down to half full, the top thread catches under somehow after changing thread colours, causing nesting. So I rewind what is left onto a plastic bobbin (becomes a full bobbin) and no more trouble. Still don't know if I really like the machine, but love, love, love the 'precise positioning' feature.

There's a Pfaff group on Yahoo with users of this machine who may be able to help you. Here is a link to the group:

Not a lot of members, but the group appears to be reasonably active. The best way to join is to first set up a Yahoo ID; that way you can ask questions and read posts online.

I use the same colored thread in the bobbin as the top thread, saves alot of aggrivation

If the problem is on the bottom, the cause is on the top thread. Make sure to rethread your upper thread. When you do, make sure the pressure foot is in the raised position or it'll mess up your tension. Try rethreading top and bottom and see how that works out for you.

I have a different machine, but have had the same problem. I suspect your top thread is hanging up somewhere. Using nets was the culprit with mine. The top thread gets too tight and pulls the bobbin thread to the top.

The first time I had that happen it turned out I had missed a step in threading the bobbin. The second time it happened was when I was using "bobbin" thread. I have the Husqvarna Topaz 20 and it does not work well with the very fine bobbin thread. I asked my dealer about it and he told me to bring it in and he could check it and make adjustments but I figure that it was not that big of a deal. I prefer to use the same thread in the top and the bobbin.
