I thought I'd share this. Gracie, our cockapoo, had her teeth cleaned and when we brought her home she was groggy and unsteady on her paws for a few hours. Calico Lizzie was very concerned about her friend!

Tothill 11-16-2015 11:01 PM

Lovely. My Calico Cat is names Sophia and she is the boss of our house.

Some times the supposed "dumb animal" is kinder than humans.

my cat is my caretaker when I'm sick. It's adorable that your cat is by your dogs side.

ManiacQuilter2 11-17-2015 11:11 AM

My dog was like drunk for a couple of hours after having his teeth cleaned. What a sweaty pie of a calico cat you have.

Carol Wilson 11-17-2015 11:25 AM

Oh dear, hope Gracie is back to normal now.

dunster 11-17-2015 02:17 PM

What a sweet picture, and a fitting caption.

gramquilter2 11-17-2015 03:41 PM

What an adorable picture. I love it. Thanks for showing it.

Tiggersmom 11-17-2015 05:38 PM

I love this! Tigger and Buddybear ( my new Yorkie) would groom each other when Tigger was alive, after he passed Buddybear knew he was gone and acted strange for several days.

For those who expressed concern, Gracie was her usual bouncy self today, and her teeth are beautiful again.

We have two cats and they both get along great with Gracie, but they hate each other! We have to keep them separated all the time because they not only fight, but the big one intercepts the smaller one at the litter pan and drives her away from it. Having three litter pans in different rooms didn't help. It drove us nuts, and the only solution has been to keep one cat in our bedroom while the other one has the rest of the house. We switch them every 24 hours, and there is a certain amount of hissing and snarling that goes with the transition every day. It's so weird because each of these cats had previous cats as friends. It's almost as if our Pogo was relieved to get the house to herself after her late cat buddy departed. We didn't see that possibility until after we got Lizzie. Lizzie was from an animal shelter, but they had her in a foster home where she got along fine with other cats and dogs. We thought Pogo might be lonely, having had at least one other cat all her life.

I recently lost my Cara dog leaving me with 2 young bishions. The bishions couldn't settle after the loss became very depressed. Eventually decided to purchase a cat. The kitten arrived and after 12 months together she is boss and thinks she is a dog if food is about. She sleeps with the dogs and plays with them. She certainly helped them out of depression.
animals respect and love each other.

juliea9967 11-18-2015 04:42 AM

What a perfect pair!

Susanna10 11-18-2015 09:48 AM

She loves her friend and is worried about her.

annette1952 11-18-2015 10:20 AM

That is so precious! Animals know when others aren't feeling good. They have such big hearts

ShirlR 11-18-2015 10:59 AM

So sweet, thanks for posting. What would we do without these little bundles of love, they make our lives so much richer.

llong0233 11-18-2015 11:42 AM

Very sweet. They must live in a loving, calm and caring environment. Lucky them and lucky you, Thank you for showing us you sweet pets.

IBQUILTIN 11-18-2015 11:54 AM

Just how sweet can that be?

Sandra-P 11-18-2015 01:28 PM

Rose,
That is so sweet! Thank you for sharing such a tender moment.

zzmom 11-18-2015 09:18 PM

Aww, that is so sweet!

romanojg 11-25-2015 07:31 AM

Lizzie looks just like my Starbucks. She was a rescue cat, I've had her about 9yrs and she was around 6 when I got her. She still loves to catch anything that moves and in the past few years this "only in the house cat" decided she likes to go outside. She stays in the front or backyard but is staying inside a little more since its getting colder out. Animals are so funny and loyal

I think often times. My dogs do worry about each other even though they snark at each other on a regular basis :)

Judith1005 11-25-2015 05:52 PM
