English to Spanish Translation

Do any of you know how to translate a sentence into Spanish? I don't think the people who mow my lawn understand my English sign. Here is the sentence: "Please latch the gate after entry to prevent the dog from escaping."

The internet has many wonderful things -- google translate just one of them (there are other translation sites too, but I can remember google).

Cierre la puerta después de la entrada para evitar que el perro se escape.

Here is Close Gate. Don't let dog out.
Cierre la puerta. No dejes salir al perro.

This might be more understandable:

Close and latch the gate. Keep dog in yard.

If nothing else, it would be easier to translate.

I’m of the kiss personality. Keep it simple silly. How about "Por favor cierre la puerta". Please close the gate. Nuf said.

"Closing" and "latching" are two different things. If all they did was close it, the dog would still escape.

I suppose I should have added in my original post that I tried to find it on the internet, and specifically Google Translate, and couldn't figure out how it works. Thank you for doing it for me. :)

Por favor cerrar la puerta con seguro. Please close and latch the gate. You can buy this sign in English and Spanish from Amazon.
