Envelope Clutches. I need some advice

I would like to make a envelope clutch. I'm a beginner sewer!! So any advice is perfect ;) I would like to use some type of pleather material.

There are lots of instructions on youtube on how to make purses, including clutches. I am going to make a shoulder strap for myself after the New Year and probably some for gifts. There are some videos on how to thin real leather in the seam area so that you can use a regular sewing machine to sew the leather, so I'm sure the pleather will be no problem. The purses are all done with straight line seams, both the outside and the lining. The reinforcing material is glued . It doesn't look hard at all. There are videos on how to make your pattern. Everything is free. Go for it. Your items on etsy look very nice; I'm sure you will have no problem with a clutch.

The only way to find out if you're ready to try something new is to go for it! Your pillows are very pretty. :)
