Daily I do something like this!

Mistakes keeps us humble and reminds us we are humans and humans err. Mothers always lend a hand when needed to children and spouse. To them, we are super women!!! Its "MOM" can do it!!! Go, Mom, and it OK to make mistakes; it is the love that counts.

No way could I remember all the dumb things I do/have done.

I guess it's that you tried that counts. Some people may live their whole life, never fixing a bicycle for their kids. Look at it as a victory!

I always to dumb stuff!

The other day , instead of getting up and getting a screwdriver, I used my best seam ripper to pry out a battery in my remote. It didn't work and now my sem ripper is 'pointless'

I am reminded of the time it was pouring rain outside and I just would not wait. So I grabbed my umbrella and ran for the car. I decided it was best to get into the car first and then put the umbrella down. Here I was crowded tight into my little car with a full size umbrella. I hit the button to make it retract and somehow that umbrella hit me full force right on my jaw! I can still remember seeing stars for about 30 minutes. I did not dare drive away, I was dizzy with pain. I will not even begin to tell you what happened the time I tried to use my boys skateboard !

Oh, I sympathize. I cannot think of anything "dumb" off the top of my head, but I am sure if I sat here and thought about it for a few, many instances would come to mind. I have had my share of "dumb" moments. Oh... here's one. My embroidery hoop broke last night, so I was super-gluing it while watching TV. I got so involved in watching the building of the Titanic on the History Channel that I glued my finger to my hoop. When I pulled my finger off the hoop (along with some skin), the hoop broke again. My husband had a "well duh" look on his face. I did get it glued without any skin loss the second time.

This is a true story. A friend was using Super Glue to replace the inside rear view mirror. It says on the package NOT to use it to reglue the inside rear view mirror. Of course he glues the mirror to his finger. Calls me I don't have anything to unglue so I send him to a friend and eventually gets it off. By this time everyone knows about this mirror and he was teased unmercifully. Moves out west and does the exact same thing and calls me and tells me he has done it again. I am not the brightest but I would never send the word out.

HAH!!! If I decide to walk, I'll do a dumb thing. I live alone and have to wait until my sons or oldest grandson comes to move heavy stuff. Well, I decided I didn't want to wait earlier this week. I have a heavy mirror over my fireplace that I wanted to put some where else. (I always seem to move stuff right before Christmas. LOL). Anyway, I carefully climb on my 3 step ladder and get the mirror in my hands. Whoa, that thing is heavy. I couldn't go up or down the ladder and I couldn't hold on to that mirror. Thoughts ran thru my head of me falling, breaking the mirror, cutting myself or breaking bones. It seemed like a lifetime while I teetered on that ladder with that heavy mirror in my hands. Finally I slowly lowered the mirror and leaned it against the ladder. I had to just stand on the ladder until I quit shaking!!!!!

I will start this saying I was a teenager when I did this. I was using gold spray paint on a Christmas ornament for the tree. The can nozzle kept getting clogged up. I thought it would be a good idea to unplug it with a needle. It worked! Because I had to look really closely at the tiny hole to see where to poke the needle......I sprayed my contact lens gold. Wow did that sting!

Don't ever use your teeth to pull off the cap of a tube of super glue..........

I think that beats anything I have ever done! wow!!!!

My stupid thing that happens to me is I use one of those mandolin vegetable slicers. I know you need to use the special pusher to keep your fingers safe. I do it most times, but every so often, I get impatient and trust that I will be careful. Am I careful? NOOOOOOOO. Do I cut my finger(s)? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Do I learn, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Insanity is keep doing the same thing under the same conditions and expecting a different outcome.

Staying upright is difficult enough.

I always call myself out on dumb things. Its funny. We need to be able to laugh at ourselves every once in awhile. It makes others laugh too. and we sure do need all the laughs we can get nowdays.I can't remember anything off the bat right now but I do know I crack up my brother on a regular basis.

When I was first married, I was making "homemade"maple syrup. As I was stirring, & trying to read the recipie at the same time, I noticed that it was beginning to come to a rolling boil. Of course, I had no candy thermometer, and stuck my index finger in the syrup to see if it was hot.....wow, it really burned, so to cool off my finger.....yep, I stuck it in my mouth! Fortunately, I have survived those early mishaps, but have dozens of more stories. :eek:
My Dad's comment when he heard what I had done: "Doggone it! You had more sense when you were 4 yrs old!" (said lovingly). :rolleyes:

We were visiting my mother for a couple of days, and one morning she asked me to go to the store for her. Still half asleep, I got dressed and combed my hair into submission. Grabbed a can and proceeded to spray my hair to keep it in place. I thought it didn't smell like my hairspray usually did, so I looked at the can...I had plastered my hair in place with my husband's deodorant.

i recently had to climb up ladders to paint the top of our rusty metal shed. sawed tree branches away from it too. did all that without getting rust remover, primer or white paint on me. yea!! then i cleaned the paint roller with the water hose. well, that stupid roller started to spin. now i have white sprinkles all over my dark jeans!!! almost got away with it.

Once at a store they had a display of knives for sale. They didn't really look to sharp so I decided to run my finger down the edge. Believe me they were sharp. I had to go to a cashier to get a tissue to contain the bleeding. I felt so dump.

It seems we are all in good company. I could write a book!

Just last week I was spraying the back side of a framed quilt I won at an online auction, carfully peeled the backing way so as not to destroy the quilt (all hand done), sprayed the frame backing perfectly - except the bleach spray caught the breeze and ruined a brand new top. Tried to dye it - no luck. My last resort is to try to dye it black next - I love that blue! Cried for an hour over it.

I made a bad mistake the night before Thanksgiving when I was preparing my chicken and dressing. You're supposed to put the dishes you use less often on the top shelves, right? Well, I had two large Corning baking dishes on the top shelf of my cabinets. The bottom one was in a metal carrier. Unknown to me, my husband had placed a smaller baking dish inside of them making them heavier. As I took them down, I don't know if my arms gave way, if they slid forward, or just how the accident happened, but all three fell onto my counter top and broke, along with a glass butter dish. After the mess was cleaned up I cried. I don't believe Corning makes these anymore. I found one on eBay for $35, but the others I don't expect to find. I wish I didn't get sentimental about "stuff" but they were nearly 30 years old and I thought of all the holiday dinners that had been served in them. Plus I wanted to pass them on to my daughter. I had to bake my dressing in two smaller dishes and it just wasn't the same.

I had this happen a few yrs ago-all 6 pyrex mixing bowls broke while moving and was able to replace them for $12 at a Salvation Army store-I love the 2nd hand stores

The worst part about it is not that it was dumb, (been there, done that, bought the T-shirt), but now how long will it take for the finger to heal so you can quilt again!!!! I feel your pain.

Probably the dumbest thing I have ever done was years ago. I got ready for work went flying out the door and climbed in my station wagon. Started it and backed up right into the side of my DH's truck. I knew it was there and he had to move it before I could get out but I forgot!! LOL He had a dented door for the life of the old truck.
