Expandable/retractable water hose
Has anyone tried the expandable/retractable water hose that is advertised on TV? If so, what do you think about it? I am wondering if it is as good as they say.

I dont know I saw one at Jo Ann today in there as seen on tv I'll be watching this thread

Yes! The hoses are great. I work at a grocery store that has a garden center and we use these hoses for watering twice a day and they work better than anything we've ever used.

Convenient - yes but it does have its limitations. This is the best review that I've found so far: http://tomsviews.com/2012/07/19/xhos...n-hose-review/
There are other reviews out there with other information, so check them out to determine if this item is right for you. |
Thanks for the review link, MaryMo! I've been wondering about these too. A few years ago I had one that was a fabric covered hose, didn't "schrunch" up like this one does but was very lightweight. It was ok for awhile but eventually sprung holes in the inner hose, which wasn't very thick/strong. I tried to find another but couldn't then. I'd gotten it at Walmart. Last year I got one of those "curly" ones that straightens out when you use it and curls back up when empty. This new one looks tempting and the offer on their web site is 2 for $20, which I might just try. I feel better about it since reading the review. It does sound stronger than the first one I had.

My dh and I researched reviews of that hose for my 97yo mil who needs a lightweight hose for her garden. We ended up getting this one instead:
http://www.williams-sonoma.com/searc...d-viewset=ecom We got the plain one (not the coil), although it was available in green at the time we sent it to her. I would trust the coil hose from W-S more than others. Still, I would Google extensively for reviews before making a decision; it really helped us. Many of the reviews we read of the hose advertised on tv is that it worked great for awhile, but soon broke down. Edit: Here's a link to the Amazon reviews of the hose we didn't get: http://www.amazon.com/Xhose-25ft-See...ws/B009H9OLVY/ |
I'm gonna wait. I've got 8 hoses and really don't need another one. You'd have to get that answer from DH.

interesting reviews... thanks all.

My DH wants one badly. He drives me to quilt shops and waits patiently and never says a word about how big the shopping bag is. He has earned a flexible garden hose. If it works or not, at least the talk of getting one will stop. Soon I hope. |
My husband likes his.
