I use what the eyeglass vendor gave me to use. I have been using one small bottle for more than 2 years now and have enough to last a while longer then I will replace it.

I recently did some research on eyeglass cleaners and got a variety of conflicting info regarding them. This last pair of glasses I got with the anti-reflective option. From my understanding there are some cleaners that can reduce the life expectancy for them. I have just been running them under water and drying with a microfiber eye cleaner cloth that I have. This thread got me researching again so I looked for places that actually sold eyeglasses and came up with the following:

Why they will each mention "eye glass cleaner" they also say that dish soap without lotion or bleach can be used.

Hi QuiltE! Yes I hate dirty glasses as well. In my one kitchen drawer I keep my napkins (cloth) and a bottle of spray. When I ran out of commercial spray, I made a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water. Does the job for me, but wiping with a soft old linen napkin gives the clear shine we need to see clearly!

My eye doctor also told me to do this.

My ophthalmologist uses the Windex with ammonia.

I buy several bottles of spray cleaner from Walmart and use an old cloth diaper I bought several years ago at a resale shop. I have several more in waiting. I wash the diaper but don't use fabric softener on it.

I don't have oily skin so not a problem. I clean glasses several times a day.

Interesting the variation that we have all heard/read.
That is exactly what I had found.

I have been using a solution provided free by my Optician.
We just take our bottles back, and she refills them at no charge!
With COVID, I have not wanted to go for the freeby.

Likewise, I should get new readers,
but just don't want the "in your face" risk, that would require.
Meanwhile, I'll try to keep my specs polished up for good viewing!
