Fabric stetched over an artist's canvas frame makes a great gift or auction item!

After machine embroidering the elephant design onto a fat quarter, I centered the design over an artists stretched canvas frame and then staple gunned the sides onto the back of the frame. This is for my great-niece's nursery.
Other ideas to make fabric frames fast: Use a pretty print from your stash or novelty print themes that go well with a child's room ...trains, abc's , frozen...... Use an orphan block and add low loft batting or flannel to back it...add quilt designs if desired. I found my artist canvas frame at Hobby Lobby. There is a variety of sizes and shapes to choose from to suit your project size....Remember to allow extra fabric to fold around the frame sides. |
I like your idea.

Hey copycat...glad you posted this.
I have used this idea for artwork for my home. I bought a modern graphic-type fabric and stretched it over a large canvas and use it over the mantel area in the living room. Works great and easy/cheap to change when redoing the room. I use appropriate fabrics and canvas sizes for different rooms. |
That's a popular decorating tip nowadays.....and some fabrics would look really cool stretched onto a canvas
|
Very cute!

Darling! Thanks for the idea for something sweet for a DGD due in February.
|
That's a great idea for fabric that you love and hate to use...
|
I have used this method for MANY different embroidery designs that I
stitched out. Even did this with some favorite fabric that I just couldn't bring myself to cut. |
That is so cute!
