A Fair question
 

I was at our County Fair with my daughter and GS. We were looking at the booth of the local sewing machine store. They had the Hello Kitty machines there. And my GS said ," do they make sewing machines with boy pictures on them?" And I too wondered why they don't , maybe more boys would like to sew on a race car machine. or if they made decals to just stick on a plain machine that would be great.

I ran into that problem last Christmas when my GS asked for a sewing machine. I found one that was in my budget, but it was pink and purple, very girly. I decided to wait.

You could add those flame decals for him.

Even as a little girl, I would have hated a pink and purple machine! :rolleyes:

I don't buy kids machines - they sew on my Berninas - I want them to have a good experience sewing on a really good machine!

I agree, let them sew with good tools and the will learn correctly and not be frustrated or limited.

I have to agree. the pink and purple, miss killy machine are cute. what dose that have to do with giveing the kids a good sewing experience for the first time sewing. If it is fun and a good experience they will be back. if the machine is cute but don't work well, the cute is they but the fun is NOT. so I say put the money in to a machine that will work and grow with them, and they love for sewing will grow to. I have four grown son all of whom watch me sew all they lifes and have sew small thing for them self. one dose most of sewing for his family and the youngs is think of gone into upholster work. And I can tall you there was not cute little toy/boy sewing machine around.

I guess you would have to decorate a plain machine yourself.
