No it's not a preserve. This group of biologists led by Dr. Lynn Rogers is studying black bears in the wild. They have been watching the bears since way back .... 1987? or even earlier. Last year they put a den cam in Lily's den and we were able to watch as she gave birth to her first cub "Hope". And this year we watched the birth of Faith and Jason. It's been very exciting to watch.

Isn't she just a doll!!! We do have a "bear ranch" here in Michigan in the UP. I love to go there to visit the bears-especially, the cubs. They often take in orphaned cubs. All the bears live in a natural setting and they are fascinating to watch!
