Someone posted the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say - say nothing". I replied that some old sayings are still pertinent today.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE OLD SAYING?

An old favorite of mine to say is "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face".

I had a grammar school teacher who was a very cranky nun. If you used a pronoun in a sentence without first naming the person, she would bark out: "SHE is the cat's mother." As a small child, we had no real idea what she was talking about, but it scared us.
