Some of my favorite ones are:
Pickles LuAnn For Better or Worse Baby Blues I miss Calvin and Hobbs There are several that I look at, because I read every single strip when I do read the paper, but don't really "get" - and they have been running for YEARS. |
I miss Calvin and Hobbs too. My son loves the books of them. I also miss Peanuts. I love BroomHilda and Hagar the Horrible too.
|
"Pickles" IS my favorite, and the teenager one "Zits" is pretty cute too! I used to like "Cathy" and I never get tired of "Dagwood"!
|
If you go to http://www.gocomics.com/ - you can read your favorites for free.
My favorites are Frazz, For Better or For Worse, Heart of the City, MythTickle, Overboard, Pluggers, Stone Soup, Pibgorn, and 9 Chickweed Lane. I have others that I read (also on the gocomics.com website). |
My favorites are:
Pickles Pooch Cafe Baby Blues Tundra (doesn't appear in our paper, My Dad sends them to me.) |
For Better or For Worse
I miss Calvin too - and definitely the Far Side |
I miss
Miss Peach. now that's going way back. |
Gone, but definitely not forgotton-The Far Side!! Absolutely the best, even if my DH never understood a single one without explanation. That's a "laugh out loud", "cut it out to save/show others" comic. Bizarro is pretty good, but there's only one Far Side!
|
I'd forgotten about "The Far Side"
all those anthropomorphic animals! |
I love the ones that see things we see and give it a little twist. Frazz, Pickles, Arlo and Janice, For Better or Worse.
|
I used to love Miss Peach!!
I read my favs on gocomics.com, too. Wizard of Id, Stonesoup, Calvin, and Forbetterorforworse |
pickles is #1..........Michele
|
You can get them sent to you every day by email. I get a lot of them every day..I'm having more fun in my second childhood than I did even in my first!!
I'll go to the other address and get the web site and share it here. |

Here it is, I get a lot of them every day. They have a lot of the old ones, and a lot of new ones. So far they've been free, as many as I want. |
I like "Zits". my youngest kid is a 16 year old boy. I could write that cartoon.....
|
Mallard
Zits Pickles Adam@home LuAnn ...and when I can find it, Shoe Non Sequitor (sometimes) |
Anyone remember Terry and the Pirates?
|
Dagwood and blondie
|
Don't read them now but when I was growing up loved "Brenda Starr". Anyone remember that one?
|
Pearls Before Swine and Pickles
|
"Buckles"...anybody who owns dogs should LOVE that one!
|
Love all of them. But I am still following Alley Opp!!
|
Family Circus. My husband & I laugh at most of them....reminder of when our children were young
|
But I am still following Alley Opp!!
------------------------------------- Yes, that's one that is in the group I have sent to my email. Ally and the other two are just coming out of Warp speed and are at Earth Two, the alternate earth that is on the other side of the sun and never seen from earth or even our space ships. I'll bet there are people there who will refuse to let them drill for oil or gas!!! |
Zigs has to be my favorite! With two boys, now 21 & 25, I used to think the artist was watching us. In fact, some of my friends thought we should be getting royalties! I guess that's why it is so funny, very close to home.

Zits..... if you have a teenage son, you can relate to it. We have and DS is 23 and still Zits hits home.
|
I like all the ones that a funny and also have large type. So many of them have bubbles with teeny tiny words in them that I can't make out what they are saying. I don't think it is my eyes. I think they have minimized them so they can get more comic strips on the page. Does anyone else feel that this is the case or am I imagining things????

No, you're not imagining things. I keep a magnifying glass in my desk drawer, just for this one reason. |
No one has mentioned B.C. That is my all time favorite. Fat Broad and the snake give me lots of laughs. I liked L'il Abner, Joe Palooka, Dondi, Ally Oop, Smiling Jack and Denny Dimwit until they quit printing them in the papers around here. My mom used to buy the NewYork News Sunday paper and The Denver Post cause they had all the good comics.

I have others that I read (also on the gocomics.com website). That's what I was going to suggest. I have a mass of them delivered to my mail box every day. Alley Oop is now just landing on Earth 2, which is a duplicate of our earth but hidden from view by our sun. Dick Tracy has a helper in solving crime, his daughter, Honeymoon. Cathy is still obsessing over clothes not fitting. Nancy is still alive and kicking. I love comics!!! |
