What is your favorite short quote? I have a few that I really like. I even have them posted on my computer desk so that I see them frequently. (Please indicate the author if it is known.)

"Certain people touch our lives in such a special way that anytime they're in our thoughts it seems a special day." (author unknown)

"Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the liberty to do as we should." (author unknown)

"Don't do what you would undo if caught." (Leah Arendt)

...and from my daughter (she insisted I include it!)

"Don't take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night!" (author unknown)

You're not going to be happy until you put someone's eye out!
When I was growing up this was a favorite among parents, we still joke about it. Yeah, like poking someone's eye out would make us happy. lol.

My philosophy in life is "It never hurts to ask". It has served me well.
My other favorite saying (and part of my signature) is literally from a Dagwood and Blondie comic: "You only go around once in life, but if you do it right, once is enough!"
