Good morning ladies.........wow it is the last day of the month. I am sad to say that I didn't lose any, in fact I have gained 18 lbs. UGH I know it will come back off, the gain is due to my meds. it is so fustrating.

Dont forget to send me your weight loss.

Jeanne......we do this each month. I sent you a PM.

I sent in my small loss but a loss of any weight ounce or pound is a good thang! I also decided that SHOULD I win, (doubtful) I want to "double down"! To leave this month's prize and add to next months for a Double Shot of encourgement or incentive!

I like the sound of the double shot encouragement. Thanks for sharing that.

I sent in my weight loss, but had gained back a few pounds.

Pam H 03-01-2013 07:20 AM

Hmmm....I stopped getting notifications for all of my subscriptions and was too busy to notice. LOL
I had a very tiny loss for the month so if everyone else gained I have a chance at the fq this month. hahaha
I have been taking dinner over every night for my DD and DSIL and then staying with Allie while they try to get some sleep. Last night I was there until after 2 and then couldn't get to sleep. Maybe I can catch a nap this afternoon. Allie is doing great! She went down to 6 lb 14 oz before she left the hospital but at her first dr visit yesterday she was up to 7 lb 6 oz. She's a good little eater and pooper!

Jim's Gem 03-01-2013 09:44 AM

Well, I'm only down .3 lbs. So really only stayed the same. Sigh......... I so need to lose this weight!!!!

Chin up, Gayle. I only lost .2 so you beat me.

createfourpaws 03-01-2013 02:03 PM

You guys did better than me, Pam and Gayle. I have gained 23 lbs since middle of Janurary when I went back on insulin. UGH this is a b***** I hate this.

I went to the cardiologist today, he is not as concerned at the PCP over my EKG. He is more concerned about the type of lung cancer I had as it can affect the heart. I am scheduled for a cardio stress test with echo on the 14th of this month. So will see what then. I am still working on losing weight. My blood sugar numbers are good, much better.

petthefabric 03-01-2013 07:05 PM

I lost 2#, not the 5# I wanted. But still going in the right direction.

Cindy, I feel for you with the 23 pound weight gain.
I gained 40 pounds when I went through menopause.
My thyroid went whacky and I didn't even know it was menopause.
By the time I said something to my doctor and she tested me, I was almost at the end!
All those years I was terrified (of meno), and I was almost done.
This 12 pound weight loss this year still leaves 28 to get back to where I was 2 years ago.
*sigh*, but I WILL get there.
I am so determined!
I hate being fat and tired, and tired and fat and unhealthy...more than I like food.
That's it.
hugs, we're all pulling for ya

Cindy I am glad your blood sugars are better. I said a prayer for your tests etc. Also a prayer for all of us to keep on keeping on with our weight loss struggles. I am one who is an emotional eater, so when major stuff goes on I don't do well. When I sew that helps me more than anything.

createfourpaws 03-02-2013 04:28 PM

I will be posting our winner tomorrow, so if you haven't sent in your loss please do so. Thank you. This month has been very interesting.

Keep up all your hard work. We are all winners.

JuneBillie 03-02-2013 06:22 PM

I heard from Airwick this morning, she is doing ok, still dealing with lots of anexity. Hasn't talke or seen the husband, but heard thru a friend that he was in the hospital for a while. She still doesn't know what she is going to happen but living one day at a time. She is going to try to join our weight loss adventure again.

Please keep her in your prayers.

createfourpaws 03-03-2013 06:34 AM

The Winner is .........

Jodi's Sew Happy with 18.2 lbs lost.

Your winnings will be in the mail in the next few days.

Congratulations.

Jodi's Sew Happy 03-03-2013 07:54 AM

Thank-you... How exciting... I'm looking forward to making a quilt or something with the winnings to remind me anything is possible. we are all capable of loosing weight. For me it's setting my mind to it. We all know what to eat whereI usually get in trouble is thinking I can have just 1 of something, when truly having none is the easier choice and eliminates the choice to have just 1 more. Things I tell myself "I'm worth taking care of" rather than the defeated negative things that come way too easy, "No" I've had to tell myself no many times over the last month I didn't die from not having whatever it was that looked soooo... good. Each time I said "No" it strenthened my resolve to do better/ be better. Praying blessings on all of you... I read the posts ever day or so and say a prayer. Glad to her an update on Airwick, so happy about the new baby and Cindy's blood sugars doing better:)

Shadowirish 03-03-2013 08:55 AM

I am an emotional eater at times too, but I am just so tired of feeling lousy.
Besides, right now, me and dd are together a lot and neither of us feel like eating much, so we have a built in buddy system.
I have to prod her to eat sometimes.
Better times are coming for her and we can't wait.
Let's all hang onto our REASON for downsizing lol. now mush! :D

Mousie 03-04-2013 07:23 PM

congrats jodi

Teriffic Tuesday --- read a neat sidebar article in a Dec/Jan Arthritis Healthg Monitor magazine during a recent doctor's visit - good info -
Head off weight gain
*Trick yourself into eating light. ...wear fitted clothes instead of baggy sweaters, having that snug layer close to my body reminds me not to overindulge.
*Have a 'food exit' stragety. If you find yourself overeating at a party, get away from the food by taking a tour of the house. Ask to see the upstairs, the basement, whatever it takes.
*Sneak in exercise. If you know you'll be skipping a workout, find little ways to inject aerobic exercise and stretching into the day. Take the stairs, park far from the entrance and it'll make a huge difference.
Stay healthy everyone!

Jodi's Sew Happy 03-05-2013 02:17 PM

Thanks for all the congrats... I will say it's a whole lot easier to gain than loose. I did a 28 day challenge from my chiropractor. It is a Maximized Living chiropractor I Pm'd a member with that info then thought I would check for a chiropractor in her area. Lot's of scary info came up about Maximized Living so I don't know what to say... I like and trust my chiropractor. So I would say like any other provider it's probably best to get a referral from someone you know and trust. What i did was protein, lots of veggies, raw nuts, no dairy other than greek plain unsweetened yogurt and no breads, pasta's or rice. I ate 3 meals and 2 snacks wasn't hungry... did crave sugar and carbs but resisted. Told myself positives "I'm worth taking care of" When I would tell myself "No" about a dessert or sweet or starch I also told myself "you won't die" Nothing too profound... but would love to help a fellow struggler. If we just didn't have to eat like an alcoholic abstains... not us we have to pick up our"bottle " daily and come up with a plan.. Wish you all the best in March. You are in my thoughts and prayers.:)
