My younger son just came over and told us that he and his girl are engaged!!! They have been living together, but I figured if it was right, it would happen.
No dates yet, or even ring... I found my pearl ring, that my husband bought me while on our honeymoon. We opened 2 oysters and then had them set into pretty ring with 2 little chips of diamonds. He is thrilled that he has a ring to give her today...and I know that she will like it. It will do until they have a chance to get one.... Got to go and try to make myself look a bit better...being sick has made me look worse than normal... Ordering pizza....but I did put a bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge and got out my Mom's crystal champagne glasses...Just wish I could have Mom & Dad over tonight, too... |

We called their best friends and had them join us for dinner. A good time had by all. It is kinda funny, my son and his best friend have been friends since they were 3...the best friend's wife is bff with my son's new fiancee...

I should have known that it couldn't be this good...
They are having a destination wedding in Jamaica next February...resort costs are $1500 per person. I didn't want to ask is this was including airfare. I haven't even called my parents yet...I know that they can't go...my hubby and I probably can't afford it. Her Mom has already said that she will not be attending. She is a widow and works 2 jobs. They are planning a reception here at the end of March for the family and friends. I already committed to pay for the liquor at the reception. I don't know how much more I can pay beyond that. |
