I am a first time grandmom. Our little girl is 3 weeks old. Typically I love her smell, her tiny fingers and the way she looks at everything with such wide eyes. She is already trying to hold up her head. I keep thinking of 1) what I can make her for Christmas - soft baby blocks and how many things I can sew for her over our time together. I hope we get to sew together. Any other ideas what I can make for her - she will be 3 months at Christmas

Isn't it Wonderful to be a first time Grandma? :) Grandbabies are so precious. Maybe you could start a collection of cloth dolls and quilted doll blankets to go with them. The collection could be personalized for her and it could grow over the years. When she gets older and ready to sew with you, she could learn to make them, too. :)

Sheila, aren't grandbabies just the best? I have 5...only one precious girl..Emilee Faith is my only granddaughter
If you haven't made her a quilt yet that would be a good suggestion...I am sure you have tho...how about a grow chart to hang on the wall? A diaper caddy? lots of cute little dresses or bibs are nice too...bumper pads for her crib? maybe curtains for her room?? happy stitchin' crafty_linda_b

I gave my DSIL's a box to put some special outgrown clothes in. When the collection becomes big enough, I will make a T-shirt quilt. I got a Rubbermaid Box and taped on a description of what types of clothes could go in the box for a T-shirt quilt.

You could make one of those things that drape over the grocery cart, a little girl purse, an advent calendar... the ideas go on and on.

Bumper pads for crib... there is a danger of suffocation with those so I would not advise that.
