Hey everyone! I just thought I'd share a project that I did recently, if you have any questions ask them here so I can share with everyone. :)

Step 1 - Cut out your pieces. It took two 20" squares and eight rectangles 6" x 20" (if you want the sides on your bed taller, make these 8" x 20" or so.) Save any small scraps you got while cutting, they can go right in to this as stuffing later. This is a great way to use up scraps that are too small for you to want to deal with. :)

Step 2 - Sew together the rectangles with a 3/8" seam. They should be right sides together. (I know, it's tricky figuring this out with fleece, but some fleeces have a right side) Leave one 20" side open. Snip the corners and flip them right sides out. Really work to get those seams crisp.

Step 3 - Top stitch 1/4" around the top and sides of your rectangles. This makes it look pretty. :)

Step 4 - Sew together your two big square pieces right sides OUT. Pin it before you start, as it will shift and stretch to drive you a bit bonkers. Don't worry if it does bunch a bit though, its going to be mostly hidden in the end anyway. Make sure to leave a slightly larger than fist-sized hole open in it.

Step 5 - Pin one of your rectangle pieces to your big square piece, leave a slightly larger than fist sized hole in it. Then sew it on with a 3/8" seam. Make sure your pieces are facing the way you want them to face. I wanted my pillow to have a pink side and a purple side, but you might like yours different. :)

Step 6 - Do the same to the opposite side. Make sure to leave that hole.

Step 7 - Flatten the sewn sides down as best you can (don't iron them, they're polyester, they'll melt!!!) Pin and sew on your other two sides, be careful to leave the larger than fist-sized hole open on the side with the hole.

Step 8 - Start stuffing the sides and sewing them together. It's a good idea to pin after the stuffing is in and kind of push the stuffing away from the area you're going to sew. Leave the side with the hole in the big square for last.

Step 9 - Remove any cats that may have attached themselves to the bed. They are not needed yet.

Step 10 - Stuff the big square piece and the last side piece. Sew that on and you're done!! You may now add cats. (If cats are not available, any other furbabies will do)

Great tutorial. I think I will make one for English Bulldog. He sleeps in his cage at night and we have a blanket that he drags around all day....we call it his security blanket.
